The advancement in technology has led to the introduction of methods for enhancing the health care. E-health has been used to enhance the health care and addressing the mental disorders issue through the use of online therapy. This discussion will analyze the evaluation of the efficacy of using telehealth in the mental disorders. It will also look at the integration of the evidence based practices in the telehealth sector. The professional issues that might be encountered and the benefits of the delivery methods will also be summarized in this discussion.
Telehealth has been an effective method of addressing the mild, moderate and the severe mental health disorders. This is because, through the use of evidence based online therapy, many disorders such as depression and anxiety have been addressed through the use of online platform website which contain information on standard diagnosis and treatment. It also reduces the patients’ and the providers’ costs and increases the system coverage areas (Gros et. al, 2013). The evidence based treatment practices can be integrated into the telehealth trend through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy and online therapy where the patients’ thoughts are changed through acts such as storytelling and helping them to live in independence.
From the interactive assignment, he population targeted are the youths aged between 18-35 years. Being a clinical psychologist, I will use telehealth to address the psychological disorders faced by the clients. It will be appropriate to use telehealth platforms such as telephone, texts and virtual clinics because the youth in the modern generation are well versed with the technological advancement. They will therefore fully corporate and follow activity schedules and lessons stated in the telehealth treatment plans.
Through the use of using e-health there are some legal, ethical and professional issues that can be encountered during the delivery of the services. The psychologists need to ensure that they meet the ethical and professional standards (Baker, 2011). Some of the ethical issues include informed consent whereby they need to obtain informed consent of the patient before delivering the treatment plan. There should also be confidentiality of the data and the information in tele-psychology. When it comes to the legal considerations, the psychologists should comply and be familiar with the relevant federal and state laws when delivering the services to the patients across the jurisdiction and international borders. The effective use of the technology in accordance to the ethics and law will be beneficial as it will minimize the risks (Harris, 2011). E-therapy will also promote new and improved ways of delivering the healthcare services thus overcoming risks such as breach of patient privacy and wrong diagnosis.

What similarities and differences can you identify among the above interactions?3. Explain the concept of congruence between verbal and nonverbal communication.4. There are many pitfalls to electronic communication. Identify a situation in which an electronic form of communication may result in a miscommunication. What other method of communication would have been more effective?5. How have you seen ISBAR used during your clinical experiences?6- Develop a hand-off report for yourself. Include items that you believe are pertinent for safe and effective nursing care. Refer to the information in the chapter for creating this report form. Using the information from the chapter, determine the effectiveness of the system currently in use on your unit for communicating shift-to-shift reports.7-Dr. Roberts comes into the nurses’ station demanding, “Where are Mr. Adams’s lab reports? I ordered these stat, and they’re not here! Who’s responsible for this patient?” How would you, as the nurse, respond?8-Explain the concept of accountability in delegation. What are the legal ramifications of accountability in delegation?9. Dennie and Elias arrive in the unit for the 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift. Both nurses completed orientation 4 weeks ago. They find that they will be the only two RNs on the floor that night. There is a census of 48 clients. The remaining staff consists of two NAPs/UAPs and one LPN. What are the responsibilities of the RN, NAP/UAP, and LPN? Can Dennie and Elias effectively delegate client care tasks and care safely for all 48 clients? Use the Delegation Tree to make your decisions.10. Discuss the differences between direct delegation and indirect delegation.1. What specific tasks did your patients require that you might have been able to delegate?b. How effective was your nurse/preceptor in delegating tasks to others?c. How did your nurse/preceptor ensure that the tasks were completed safely and appropriately? |
This discussion will allow you to generate content for your Final Project regarding your chosen healthcare organization’s customers and demographics. As mentioned in Chapter 7 of the course text, “marketing involves both the creation and distribution of goods and services” (Stevens, R., & Silver, L. S., 2015, section 7.1: “What is Marketing,” para. 4). Marketing departments should be concerned with customer needs and meeting those needs in the market place. The marketing concept for HCOs, therefore, is patient-centered. However, marketing concerns within a HCO should not be focused on patients in general, but on patients who are part of a pre-selected market segment (i.e., specific customers with specific needs). To prepare for this discussion, read Chapter 7 of the course text and the Rao (2012) article, “Generating Growth Through Patient-Centered Commercial Strategies.” Then read the scenario below and address the points that follow.
Scenario:
The Happy Valley long-term care director notes that past marketing directors and marketing teams made assumptions concerning patient expectations and offered a limited degree of amenities. However, current research indicates that the baby boomer generation will expect a far greater degree of amenities such as TVs in rooms and private bathrooms. In the future, HCOs and marketing teams will focus on analytical tools to gain a more accurate degree of knowledge concerning patients’ actual expectations and needs. The marketing director for Happy Valley long-term care facility decided to perform a qualitative analysis. The marketing team interviewed patients and their families as a means to determine patient needs and expectations. The outcomes of the analysis provided the marketing team with data that could be applied to the development of marketing objectives and strategies to support the strategic plan.
Patient-centered marketing focuses on knowing what specific patients need and expect. Needs and expectations can vary, based on the type of care (e.g., long-term care, hospice, palliative care, renal care, and physical therapy).
In your initial post:
Discuss why patient-centered marketing is an important aspect of your chosen HCO’s marketing plan.
Explain how patient-centered marketing would help support the goals of your chosen HCO’s marketing plan.
Support your claims with citations and references from the course text and at least one scholarly source.

- Observe the professors own page.
- What do you think?
- Is this something that is a good idea?
- Do you think that this could help your career?
- How could one use this to advance your career?
- Do you feel like the union is beneficial? Or do you feel the union is a waste of time and money?

- professor page:Having spent the last decade and a half teaching in a Nursing Program at Miami-Dade College, I am now trying to back up my credentials with certifications and clinical expertise that will stand as proof of my commitment. Hopefully, this will take me to the next step in my career.
During the past few years I have built a start to a Certification in Gerontology that hopefully will be offered to students in the RN to BSN program someday. As of now there are two classes that I have created from scratch- Fundamentals of Gerontology and End-of-Life or Palliative Nursing Care. Eventually I would like to add two more classes (at least) and offer students a certification in Gerontology upon successful completion of the classes.
Also in the works is the idea of getting either another Masters or Doctorate in Gerontology so as to increase my ability to build a credible program within the School of Nursing at MDC. Some other plans that are in the works: Certification in Nursing Education (CNE)- Research projects in “Write around technique to alleviate plagiarism use” and “Fluid balance charting as a training technique” to be conducted at MDC.
Also, several papers are in the works, at different stages, including Multidrug Resistant Organisms and their role in Nursing Homes” that was recently presented at the 8th Interprofessional Geriatric Training Symposium at Nova Southeastern University (May, 2015}. Also, after taking care of a patient that had Mantle Cell Lymphoma, I became very interested in the disease and the care of individuals with this normally fatal disorder. Lastly, my old favorite that I studied while getting my doctorate, the problem with convincing people the benefit of the Human Papillomavirus Vaccine.
