mentor program, youth matched by schedule with a mentor, and youth matched to a
mentor with common interests. The dependent variable was the difference in school
grade point average after the mentoring program. Perform an ANOVA test and any
needed post-hoc tests (using Excel or any other statistical software you prefer or have
access to). Write an interpretation of your analysis, keeping in mind DuBois’ conclusion.
in nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential to achieving successful outcomes. Being able to articulate the information and successfully summarize relevant peer-reviewed articles in a scholarly fashion helps to support the student’s ability and confidence to further develop and synthesize the progressively more complex assignments that constitute the components of the course change proposal capstone project.
For this assignment, the student will provide a synopsis of eight peer-reviewed articles from nursing journals using an evaluation table that determines the level and strength of evidence for each of the eight articles. The articles should be current within the last 5 years and closely relate to the PICOT statement developed earlier in this course. The articles may include quantitative research, descriptive analyses, longitudinal studies, or meta-analysis articles. A systematic review may be used to provide background information for the purpose or problem identified in the proposed capstone project. Use the “Literature Evaluation Table” resource to complete this assignment.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

5. Identify two Morbidity and Mortality/Risk Problems: (Based on your observations from Week 1 subjective assignment, windshield survey and key informants provide Morbidity, Mortality (M&M) and risk data for your community… Example 1: if you observed obesity in your community then present obesity rates and health conditions associated with obesity [i.e. CVD, HD, Depression, etc.). Example 2: smoking/drinking rates and health conditions associated with smoking [i.e. Lung Cancer, COPD, etc]. These variables may include the following: gender (who does this problem affect the most, men or women); age distribution; ethnicity or racial group(s) mostly-affected; morbidity and mortality rates; any data related to life-expectancy in light of the health issues; is there a geographic area where the health problems mainly exist; is there a relationship between the health issue(s) and environmental health hazards; are these life-threatening health issues? Remember compare objective data for your community with local (city), state, and national data. Remember to cite sources as appropriate.
6. Other data as needed (air, water quality, crimes rates). Remember compare objective data for your community with local (city), state, and national data. Remember to cite sources as appropriate.
Analysis of Data
1. Based on your subjective and objective review of your findings, what conclusions have you arrived at? Remember to cite sources as appropriate.
· What impressions from your subjective observations were unfounded/invalid?
· Given the objective data, what impressions were validated/substantiated?
· What cause-and-effect relationships did you discover/identify?
2. Problem Analysis for Community/Zip Code:
Problem: List two (2) problems within your community (for example, Infant Malnutrition, CVD, Lung Cancer, Obesity, Alcoholism, Violence) NOTE: These problems need to be something the Community Health Nurse can impact(for example, a CHN cannot build a sidewalk, repair a street, implement a new bus route, etc.). Remember to cite sources as appropriate.
1. ____________________________________________
2. ____________________________________________
Select one of these problems and complete the Problem Analysis chart
*These are factors that contribute to problem and outcomes.
+ Refer to appropriate sections of the database and relevant research of the findings in current literature. Data in the third column could be local, state, or national statistics.
Refer to text (pg. 420-423) for additional examples.
3. Community Health Nursing Diagnoses:
Based on your subjective and objective assessment findings above for both Weeks 1 and 2, write TWO priority community health nursing diagnoses.
You must use this format as outlined in your text page 413 (do NOT use NANDA):
Health Risk/problem of (specific injury, illness, or potential of, complication of, etc) among (specific population) related to (supporting evidence from your assessment findings).
Ø Your CHN Diagnoses MUST be something that a community/public health nurse can do something about. See example below.
Ø Note: Poverty is NOT a CHN diagnosis.
Ø Remember do NOT use NANDA Nursing Diagnoses.
For example: Risk of asthma complications among children in SE Dallas County related to observations of overcrowded living conditions, lack of public transportation (may result in inability to access health care), high number of animals observed living in homes, poverty indications (may result in lack of access to medications).

An educational program’s worth is determined by a process that is defined as an evaluation (Keating & DeBoor, 2018). “Evaluation is a broad term that describes the process of determining the value, worth, or quality” (Billings & Halstead, 2016, p. 385). There are several evaluation models that are utilized by nursing programs and nursing educators.
During this week’s assigned readings, I found two models that could be used for the evaluation of an educational intervention in a healthcare setting. One is the RSA Model which was developed by Roberta Straessle Abruzzese, a nursing educator. This model is a triangle that progresses in a hierarchy fashion moving from process evaluation (the lowest level) to content evaluation, outcome evaluation, and the highest level – impact evaluation (DeSilets, 2010). Another attractive model is the CURRICULUM Model which includes context, content, and conduct. Under context the letters C – consider context and U – understand learners; content includes the letters R – wRite goals, R – wRite objectives, I – identify content, C – choose methods and materials, and U – unite resources; and conduct includes the letters L – lead implementation, U – undertake evaluation, and M – monitor outcomes (Kalb, 2009).
Although the above-referenced evaluation models are appropriate for an educational program within a healthcare setting, our team has chosen the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model combined with a Shared Governance Model approach. The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model “evaluates four levels of change: reaction, learning, behavior, and results” (Billings & Halstead, 2016, p. 389). Each of these levels must be evaluated before expanding upon the next. This model will be useful for the nurse and the educator as it will show if the training yields the desired outcomes; the degree of change on the nursing units; and the amount of content learned (Kirkpatrick Partners, 2019). Moses Cone Hospital already has a Shared Governance model in place which will aid in achieving quality patient care by aligning nursing professional practice with organizational values and beliefs (Nursing World, 2004). This model can help nurses by encouraging one another to provide evidenced-based care and live the mission, vision, and values of the Cone Health organization.
According to Billings & Halstead (2016, p. 395), “to design and implement an evaluation plan and then ignore the results would defeat the purpose of evaluation.” Evaluation of an educational program not only reveals the success of the said program; it can also assist the nurse educator in any changes that need to be made for future reference. “Implementing an educational model that is based on outcomes reflects the influence of education on practice” (Dickerson, Shinners, & Chappell, 2017).

For this short essay, please articulate a precise description of the main arguments Bagley advances and the principal evidence he adduces to support his assertions. It is intended to develop your skills as a critical reader and to show your ability to formulate and articulate your observations in written form. In this paper, you are not supposed to make your own argument. Rather, you should summarize the content of the reading by addressing these questions:
- What is the topic of the article?
- What is the central argument of the author?
- Which kind of evidence (pictorial, textual) does the author draw upon to support his argument?
- How does he use said evidence to support his conclusion?
Remember that every time you quote, paraphrase or summarize others’ work, facts, ideas, etc. you must cite your source. For this assignment, use parenthetical citations at the end of each sentence where you use Bagley’s text. For example: (Bagley 114). Footnotes and endnotes are also acceptable if used with a correct and consistent format. Since you will only use one reading for this assignment, you are not
required to have a list of works cited at the end of the paper, nor should you require any outside research.
Formatting Requirements and Submission
The paper should be 250-500 words long, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins and Times New Roman font, size 12. You will be asked to submit your file on Canvas by Friday November 6, at 11:59 pm PST. 25% will be deducted every 24 hours for late submissions, and no paper will be accepted after the Sunday following the due date (unless otherwise arranged with me in the case of documented sickness or family emergency).

9Assignment 1) My Future Career in the Human Services
[WLO: 3] [CLOs: 1, 2, 4]
Prior to beginning work on this journal, read Chapter 1 in your text, Moffat’s Helping Those in Need: Human Service Workers, Neukreg’s The Holland Code of Members of the National Organization for Human Services: A Preliminary Study of Human Services Professionals, and HS-BCP Credential (Links to an external site.). Your journal entry can be informally written in first person and should contain approximately 500 to 700 words. If you know precisely the position you hope to hold in the human services profession after finishing your degree, then this will be fairly simple. If you do not know what position you are going to seek after graduation, then focus on a population that interests you most at this current time (e.g., homeless individuals, military families, domestic violence victims, foster families, etc.) and the type of role you think that you would like to serve with that population (e.g., leadership or management, direct services with clients or case management, etc.).
In your journal,
- Conduct a search, and report what skills and qualifications are involved in this position.
- Continue the search to identify the overall compensation, degree requirements, licensure requirements (if any), and any other helpful information that will guide your journaling on this position.
- Do you plan to pursue the Human Services Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) credential? How will this help you in your new position?
- What excites you the most about this position? What concerns you?
(Assignment 2)
Evolution of Human Services: Designing the Historical Context
[WLO: 1] [CLOs: 1, 3, 4]
Prior to beginning work on this learning activity, Read Chapter 2 in the assigned text and LoPatin-Lummis’ Protesting About Pauperism: Poverty, Politics and Poor Relief in Late-Victorian England, 1870-1900. If you want to dive further, check Loiacono’s A People’s History of Poverty in America in the Recommended Resources section this week.
Historically, poverty has been the impetus for developing a social welfare system and related policies.
