We are going to have a continuous class discussion as we move through Taking Up the Cross (Nov 9-18)The discussion includes the entire class, including Professor Whitlock, who will interact with you all. In other words, you are not in small groups for this final discussion.
You are expected to have at least eight posts (and not all at once) between now and November 18. You will earn 45 points if you meet this requirement. You will earn 50 points if you go beyond eight posts. I suggest posting and participating each time you read Taking Up the Cross. In other words, I expect you to spread out your posts. I even suggest posting two times per reading.

 Create an “ideal” nursing unit. Your facility is a brand new small critical access hospital that has 25 medical/surgical beds and a small rehabilitation unit with 6 beds. you will need to work together to research and discuss specific issues to create your nursing unit. Informatics assists nursing in many ways. Being able to support a discussion and explain how technology impacts the issue gives the nurse a broader understanding of how technology can be used in their practice.

Tasks:

The stone is a unit of mass that is still sometimes used in the British Isles as an expression of human weight. A stone is equal to 14 pounds (about 6.35 kilograms). Argue for the international use of kilograms as a measure of human weight. What are the advantages to the unified system? What are the disadvantages? Who might be resistant? Why and/or how does technology impact this issue? Take this position, answer these questions, and support your decision.

In a minimum of 200 words, post your response to the following:

  • Discuss the advantages of a unified system.
