A mental health agency measured the self‐esteem score for randomly selected individuals with disabilities who were involved in some work activity within the past year. The Excel file Self‐Esteem provides the data, including the individuals’ marital status, length of work, type of support received (direct support includes job‐related services such as job coaching and counseling), education, and age. a. Use multiple linear regression for predicting self‐ esteem as a function of length of work, support level, education, and age. b. Investigate possible interaction effects between support level and the other numerical variables by building an appropriate model. Determine the best model. c. Find the best regression model for predicting self‐ esteem as a function of length of work, marital status, education, and age. (Note that the categorical variable marital status has more than two levels.)

q2

1. A community health status survey obtained the following demographic information from the respondents: Compute the relative frequency and cumulative relative frequency of the age groups. Also, estimate the average age of the sample of respondents. What assumptions do you have to make to do this? 2. The Excel file MBA Student Survey provides demographic data and responses to questions on the number of nights out per week and study hours per week for a group of MBA students. Construct frequency distributions and compute the relative frequencies for the categorical variables of gender, international student status, and undergraduate concentration. What conclusions can you draw?

Introduction

Hypothesis testing is a foundational statistical technique used to make decisions about a hypothesis. A hypothesis test compares two mutually exclusive statements (null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis) where only one is true. Hypothesis testing can determine statistical significance by examining the probability that a given result would occur under the null hypothesis. For this assignment, you will perform hypothesis testing on the differences between the two groups.

Preparation

Download Assignment 2 Dataset.
The dataset contains the following variables:

  • Clinic1 (total number of visits per month for clinic 1).
  • Clinic2 (total number of visits per month for clinic 2).

Instructions

An investor needs to make a decision on whether to acquire one of two medical clinics based on their productivity, as measured by the total number of visits per month. You have been asked whether there is a significant difference in the total number of visits per month between clinic 1 and clinic 2.
For this assignment, perform hypothesis testing on the differences between two groups in the Assignment 2 Dataset. Create an appropriately labeled Excel document with your results. Also, write an analysis of the results in a Word document. Insert the test results into this document (copied from the output file and pasted into a Word document). Refer to the “Copy From Excel to Another Office Program” resource for instructions.

Grading Criteria

The numbered assignment instructions outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the Hypothesis Testing for Differences Between Groups Scoring Guide, so be sure to address each point. You may also want to review the performance-level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed:

  1. Generate a hypothesis about the difference between the two groups in a dataset.
    • State null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis as an explanation and math equation.
  2. Identify the appropriate statistical test of the difference between the two groups in a dataset.
    • Provide your statistical rationale.
  3. Perform an appropriate statistical test of the difference between two groups in a dataset.
  4. Interpret statistical results of data analysis and state whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis based on the p-value and an alpha of .05.
    • Interpret p-value and statistical significance.
  5. Write a narrative summary that includes practical, administration-related implications of the hypothesis test.

Additional Requirements

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

  • Written communication: Write clearly, accurately, and professionally, incorporating sources appropriately.
  • Length: 2–3 pages.
  • APA format: Cite your sources using the current APA format.
  • Font and font size: Times Roman, 12 point.
  • attachment

As helping professionals, employees in the human and social services field want their client to be successful. They try to interview clients to create a social history, set goals, make recommendations, and refer clients. However, things do not always go as planned. As a human and social services professional, it might be necessary to terminate the client relationship for other reasons, such as the client becoming aggressive towards the professional or other situations such as a client no longer wanting services or moving away which makes it no longer possible for him or her to receive services.

To Prepare

  • Review your interviews and documentation related to your Final Project.
  • Review Chapter 11 of your Summers text regarding addressing and disarming anger.
  • Imagine that before you ended your services with the client, the client displayed some inappropriate confrontation, crisis and/or had an angry outburst in front of you.
  • Consider how you would document this in a Termination Summary.
  • Although your Termination Summary does not need to follow a specific format, refer to pp. 443-447 in your Summers text for ideas.

For this Assignment

Create a 2-page Termination Summary of your work with your interviewee/client from your Final Project interview and document the progress related to the service plan/goals that you created in Week 10. As part of your Termination Summary, document the inappropriate confrontation, crisis and/or angry outburst incident you imagine could happen. Include what your response and the client’s response might be, that might not be the most appropriate (refer to Chapter 11 for ideas). Then, include a plan for managing this type of crisis in the future.

Topic:  In Plato’s Apology, we hear Socrates’ tale of a philosopher’s efforts to bring others in his society to appreciate the value of seeking the truth.  In Plato’s Allegory of the Cave (Republic VII), we see the prisoners at the bottom of the cave entrapped and subject to error and illusion.  Explain how either or both of these works can help us understand the challenge to truth that has developed in our time.  Pay particular attention to Lynch’s concern that we’ve lost track of the sense that we “share a common reality”.
Length:  Short paper of 2-4 pages.
Format:  Very tight, traditional paper using an introduction, body, and conclusion. Guidelines will be found in the Writing Modules of this course in Course Resources.
