I am not quite sure the exact professional field I will be in at the moment, but I do know,  that it will be pertaining to “Trouble Young Teenage Girls” and “Me” directing them in the “Right-Direction” of Life! I will be a professional Counselor or Social Worker as I continue my education here at Ashford University, and aiming towards my future goal with my “Masters Degree”  in Psychology which I am currently working on now.I should have completed by Oct. 2018 at the age of 62 years old. My motto ” It-Is-Never-Too-Late”!——————————————————————————————————————————————– Hello! My fellow Classmates! My name is Yvette Lunday and it is a pleasure to meet you all!. I am now 61 years young and pursuing my dreams and goals that I had envisioned for myself during my younger years. I started to attend college when I was fresh out of High School at the ripe young age of 18 years old. Although, after 3 months in college, I decided to drop out and marry my military husband and travel the world with him. I did not regret this once and a lifetime opportunity to travel and see the world. I have visited several Countries such as France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamacia, Grand Cayman Islands just to mention a few, smile. ————————————————————————- Hello! So, I decided to come back to college at the ripe young age of 56, and have already received my AA degree back in Aug.,2014 in “Business Management”  at Ashford University, and then my BA degree in “Human Services”, which was last Oct. 2016. • Hello! Ann! The paper is good but the first 5 pages seem to be redundant. My end goal is to open up an after school program for young trouble teenage girls in the inner city to help guide them in the right direction of life. This passion was placed in my heart as a young pregnant teenager headed in the wrong direction of my life and a very nice social worker helped me to figure out which direction I should take. So, now all I want to do is “Pay-It-Forward” and give back to the community–what–it gave me–“A-WONDERFUL LIFE”!. I want to save another young-trouble-girl–like–someone—“SAVED-ME”! 🙂 My experience of traveling all around the world will also make me a “GREAT-COUNSELOR” due to the diversity of all the people that I have encounter around the world. I also loved to talk and am a “PEOPLE-PERSON” with great communication skills which comes from {Military-Life). I am very understanding to all cultures because I lived all around the world. Maybe, some of this information I just shared with you can help create a better Portfolio. So, can you please revise it/ Thank you! We have until Sunday 🙂

INTEGRATION OF NURSING INFORMATICS SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Integration of Nursing Informatics Skills and Competencies

Reflect on your own practice. Explain how much informatics you use in a shift or day of work.
I can recall when paper charting was utilized in every hospital until most recently.  When I heard that all hospitals were being mandated to go to computerized charting, my friends and I were not very happy because it meant we had to change. Nurses love repetition, don’t we? I can recall the countless hours of electronic health record training and the time it took to get things worked out. Today, I can’t even imagine how we worked without the computer. It is amazing how much easier technology has made our work in the nursing profession.
For our second discussion question this week, please reflect on your own nursing practice. Please explain how you utilize informatics during your shift, or, in your workplace. Please critically think!  We are using technology in our nursing practice even when we are unaware. In addition to computerized charting, we have automated vital signs monitors, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and I am sure you can think of quite a few other pieces of technology! How much informatics are you utilizing in your personal daily nursing practices?

Existential-Humanistic Therapy Essay Assignment Papers

Week 8: Existential-Humanistic Therapy

“It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.”
–Carl Rogers, from On Becoming a Person

This client-centered perspective is the cornerstone of existential-humanistic therapy, which requires therapists to “attempt to receive clients with curiosity and openness, endeavor to grasp their subjective world, and believe that clients are the experts on their own experience” (Wheeler, 2014, p. 373). As the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, it is important to understand that the effectiveness of this approach is dependent on your relationship with clients, as well as your beliefs on holism and human nature. Existential-Humanistic Therapy Essay Assignment Papers.
This week, as you explore existential-humanistic therapy, you assess clients and consider the appropriateness of various therapeutic approaches. You also develop diagnoses for clients receiving psychotherapy and consider legal and ethical implications of counseling these clients. Existential-Humanistic Therapy Essay Assignment Papers.

Comment1
As our lecture describes, “death is a particularly traumatic and difficult experience for both family and caregivers” (Grand Canyon, 2015). A rather interesting distinction I observed while working on both of these units and witnessing death in different underlying situations/stages: death on the oncology unit usually came after a long, hard fight with cancer. As such, patient’s families were often understandably distraught and through their grief expressed feeling “robbed” of time with their loved one. When death occurred on the geriatric unit however, family members would sometimes express feelings of gratitude that their loved one lived to a ripe age and felt at peace that their time had come, as it was expected. In witnessing these experiences, it made me understand that death is easier to swallow/digest for some when it occurs from natural age process versus caused by disease.
The acceptance of death and the grieving process is experienced differently by everyone. Personally, I feel my bedside experience as a nurse has helped me understand this process a great deal and I empathize greatly with the patients/families I have encountered.
Comment2
I have only witnessed death a couple of times at work. I have worked with hospice patients that visit the doctor’s office and these have been about comfort. Since I am a float in the clinic setting, I do not come across much death. I did when I worked on the medical floor; there, acceptance of the death depended more on if it was expected or not. I think that when we know death is going to occur it is easier to accept and come to terms with. When death is not expected it can be harder because of the sudden loss. I do not think that the lack of experience at work has shaped my view on death because I have dealt with it personally.
I think that I handle death fairly well because I grew up with death being a natural part of life. As we grew up on the farm it was normal to lose animals. We also have a very large extended family and we went to funerals fairly regularly. While others have viewed that as wrong or depressing to have children go to funerals, it was never viewed that way by my family because it was a part of life and we celebrated that life. I have not shielded my children from death either. My sister-in-law and I have different views on this; I accept her decision, she does accept not mine. She was upset when we brought our children to the first funeral on my husband’s side of the family but it was very natural to me. Death is only one step in life and should not be feared.

Stakeholder Support Is Necessary For A Successful Change Proposal Project Implementation.

Stakeholder support is necessary for a successful change proposal project implementation. Consider your internal stakeholders, such as the facility, unit or health care setting where the change process is situated, and your external stakeholders, like an individual or group outside the health care setting. Why is their support necessary to the success of your project, and how you will go about securing that support?

 Product Development
Health services continue to affect the gross domestic product, and this dramatic transformation has great demands on each dollar spent to deliver patient-centered products. Health care marketing must be repeatedly applied and practiced strategically to include environmental dimensions, such as technology, socioeconomics, competition, and regulatory.
That being said, in today’s global economy, investors and potential entrepreneurs must tap into the so-called “unexplored” market. In this aspect, health care establishments must utilize marketing, advertising, as well as sales strategies when pursuing new customers (e.g., suppose a health care investor wanted to build a small hospital in a rural community); this would entail exploration and logistical experimentation to determine who will patronize the facility. In an impoverished neighborhood, the feasibility of having lucrative profits may see diminishing returns, and so the venture may be not worth the effort. Also, suppose that the potential investor wants to sell mosquito deterrents (e.g., bedside netting in malaria-infested regions of Asia or Africa); then it would be wise to investigate the number of beds that are actually in the village, and who would be willing to purchase them. These activities take into account the investor portfolio, as well as the feasibility of marketing and selling the product. Such exploration also examines competitors, cultural differences, and—most important—identification of the customer.
Identify a local health care establishment (e.g., hospital, rehabilitation center, emergency medical center) and determine its product development practices. Utilize concepts from previous weeks to substantiate information, as needed. You may develop the discussion based on the ideas presented here, but feel free to inject any salient marketing strategy that you believe might support your presentation.
Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

  1. Justify the purpose of the selected health care establishments’ product(s) / service (s) and their associated life cycle(s).
  2. Suggest one (1) strategy to improve the marketing mix of the selected health care establishment. Support your strategy by highlighting one (1) benefit of (1) portfolio analysis and providing two (2) examples that display differential advantages.
  3. Assess the importance of technology in providing patients with clear and accessible information about health care organizations and the product(s) / service(s) that they provide.
  4. Outline a survey to capture patients’ expectations regarding the delivery and / or accessibility of product(s) / service(s) identified.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
