Conduct a windshield survey to identify a population and its primary health concern. Develop a 3–5-page report that explains demographic changes for a population and describes the health disparities and social determinants of health that can affect the population.

**Central Florida United States community**

Requirements

Conduct the windshield survey, using the template attached.
Use the template as a guide to write a report for your team. If possible, look at other written documents used within your organization. How are they formatted? Follow that format as closely as possible, making sure you still use APA guidelines for your in-text references, citations, and reference page.

Based on your observations and notes from your survey experience, write a report that includes the following:

Describe, briefly, the neighborhood or community you observed (overall condition, types of spaces and businesses, evidence of services, and so forth).
Describe a vulnerable or diverse population you observed living within the neighborhood or community.

Now you will need to do some research on the population you described:

Explain how the demographics for the population have changed over the past 5–10 years. Note: This information should be readily available through the United States Census Bureau, similar state Web sites, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or other professional sites. Be sure your information is current.
Describe the most prevalent health risks for the population. For example, if your population is senior citizens, then the health risks might be diabetes and loss of mobility. Include statistics on the health risks, such as frequency of occurrence in the population and number of deaths per year in the population.
Identify the health disparities and social determinants of health that can affect the population. In other words, what will you need to overcome to develop a successful health promotion and disease prevention program for the population?

Your completed assessment should be 3–5 pages in length, not including the title page and reference page. Support your information with references to at least three professional, scholarly, or government resources, and follow current APA guidelines for your in-text citations and references.

reason is salaries/benefits. A charge nurse thinks the reason might be working conditions, especially
involving patient load in the various nursing units. Overall morale is low
, which is adversely affecting pro

Improvement team.
During the discussion, the Senior Director of Admissions shares some experiences she had with a for

mer employer–that the nursing staff tended to remain longer with the employer based on good working
conditions, specifically in the area of learning new skills, obtaining additional certifications, licensure, and

Controversy surrounding the treatment of substance abuse disorders with other substances extends from the most basic to the philosophical. Some health care providers focus on the removal of all substances to address the addiction and argue that complete abstinence is the only real option. They believe that no medications should be given (except to save one’s life) during treatment for substance abuse. Many mental health professionals, particularly in America, hold these views. In contrast to removing all substances, others focus on the ability of the client to function. Many programs support the belief that addicts can live normal lives with controlled use of substances.
How do these opposing views in the treatment of addiction clients affect the addiction mental health practice? How does the mental health professional working with addiction prepare and support the mental health care team and the client? How do programs like the 12-step Narcotics Anonymous program compare with other approaches as far as research results?
For this Discussion, select a medication used in treating substance abuse disorders. Then, conduct a search for any controversy surrounding the use of this medication in treating substance abuse disorders and prepare to defend its use.
Post
A description of the major actions, intended effects, and side effects of your selected medication.
Explain controversy surrounding the use of this medication in treating substance abuse disorders.
Defend the effective use of this medication and support your defense with evidence from the Learning Resources or from your personal research.

Thematic Backpack Plan

As educators, we want to encourage active participation among the diverse and busy families we work with in ways that consider their various structures, needs, lifestyles, and schedules. We teach children about health, wellness, nutrition, and safety in school; however, we want to offer families support for continuing this education in the home. Thematic backpacks, which are sent home with children for a week throughout the year, either on a rotating schedule or a sign-out system, is one idea for how to engage families at home. Thematic backpacks include materials, parent information, games, manipulatives, and other resources all centered on a teacher-created thematic plan to explore the contents in a fun and engaging way at home with the family. Children love these, and family members can be involved in learning at home when it is convenient for them.
Create a plan for the development of a health, wellness, nutrition, and safety unit backpack that you can send home with your families. For this assignment, only the written plan is required; however, you are encouraged to create this resource as you develop the plan. The purpose of the backpack is to encourage families to explore the areas of health, wellness, nutrition, and safety at home.
The requirements for your written plan are as follows:

Introduction letter (no longer than one page):

Explain the purpose of the backpack. This should be written in a family-friendly form and be visually appealing. You may wish to use colored font, graphics, or pictures to set the tone for a fun and engaging experience.

Health:

Describe one idea, activity, or game centered on an important health concept for families to explore. For example, you may include a sorting game that has pictures or text of sick/hurt children. Families can sort into two piles: “Okay to go to school” or “Stay home.” Example pictures/text could include runny nose, fever, scraped knee, sneezing, band-aid, etc. Try to think about creative fun ideas that allow families to explore the topic and materials.

Wellness:

Describe one idea, activity, or game centered on an important wellness concept for families to explore. For example, you may include ideas for a family exercise night or an outdoor scavenger hunt.

Nutrition:

Describe one idea, activity, or game centered on an important nutrition concept for families to explore. For example, you may include a healthy recipe book, a recipe to make a healthy snack together, or a grocery store game.

Safety:

Describe one idea, activity, or game centered on an important safety concept for families to explore. For example, you might include a composition notebook in the backpack and encourage children and families to draw a picture of something that they do safely or draw a picture of a safety practice they follow at home.

Reference page:

One APA citation for a children’s book that you can include in the backpack for families to read together. In addition to the citation, please include a summary of the story.
One APA citation for a resource that will support families to learn more about one of the areas. In addition to the citation, please include a summary of the resource.

Your written assignment should include a page for each of the following: introduction including your name, health activity, wellness activity, nutrition activity, safety activity, and resources (for a total of six pages). You may wish to include a picture of your backpack if you choose to create one. Because this assignment is meant to be useful for your future role, you do not need to submit a title page or a resources page; however, you will need to include references to any materials that you use.
Carefully review the Grading Rubric (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.

Discussion Question 2

Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research about nursing informatics or technologies used in nursing. Based on your research, answer the following questions:

  • What technology does your facility use?
  • How has it improved patient care or outcomes?
  • What can be done to make it more useful or to further improve patient care or outcomes?

Research Utilization · I am only responsible for Part A, and study (subtitle) #3 · Topic is Mental health for trauma survivors Subtitle #3 Components of Synopsis: What was the purpose of the study (research questions, purposes, and hypotheses)? How was the sample obtained? What inclusion or exclusion criteria were used? Who from the sample actually participated or contributed data? What methods were used to collect data (e,g., sequence of events, timing, types of data , and measures)? Was an intervention/treatment/clinical protocol tested? Explain What were the main findings of this study? Research Utilization The purpose of this paper is to describe a global health problem that can be explored through nursing research, discuss how this health problem is applicable in both the United States and other countries of the world, and critique four research studies that have been done on the topic. This is a scholarly paper. DO NOT use the first person. The paper should be 8 – 10 pages (not including the title, abstract, and reference pages.). You must use a minimum of 3 research articles for your paper. The research articles will be discussed in the body of the paper, properly cited, and properly identified in the references. APA format for citing is required. Use what you’ve learned about the components of nursing research and strategies for critiquing research to guide your selection of appropriate research study articles. All THREE of the research study articles MUST BE written by nurses and published in a peer-reviewed nursing journal. At least ONE of the three nursing research studies must address nursing practice in another country. Part A: The first part of the paper should clearly define the global health problem, and discuss why it is important for nursing. Discuss how this problem is viewed in the United States and how it is viewed in another country. For example, if the focus is adult hypertension, discuss guidelines for defining hypertension in the US and in another country. ( we are doing mental health for trauma survivors) Use the heading Part A for this section. Part B: The second part of the paper will include an Appraisal synopsis for each of the research studies that you have selected for your topic. This part of the paper will discuss what is known about the health problem in the United States population and at least one other country of the world. For example, in regards to hypertension, you may choose four research study articles done by nurse researchers that looked at interventions to improve medication compliance, or the effect of diet and exercise in reducing elevated blood pressure. Use the heading Part B for this section. Then use the subheading Study #1-Nursing research study in the USA. Appraise and critique the article following the components of synopsis shown below. Begin by providing the article citation, then provide a synopsis of the article by answering the questions in Components of Synopsis. Conclude by discussing implications for practice, policy or further research as it relates to Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #2- Nursing research study non-USA. Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #3 (this can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #4 (this can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Part C: This is the conclusion of your paper, and summarizes the key points that you have addressed in your paper.
