There are exciting trends in healthcare technology today, of that there is no doubt. Three of the most interesting trends are telehealth, cloud computing, and radio frequency identification technology. Select one of these emerging technologies, and explain how it can be used to improve health care delivery.

Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.”

(ALSO PLEASE RESPOND TO ANOTHER STUDENTS COMMENT BELOW)

Telehealth can be used to improve health care delivery in that a patient does not need to leave their home for certain services. I have seen first hand the ease of this type of patient health service. My 73 year old father has high blood pressure and diabetes. He needs to monitor his sugars and blood pressure on a daily basis. Telehealth allows him to avoid having to go to the VA because he does all of his monitoring at home. He takes his blood pressure every morning and the results are transmitted to a nurse at the VA directly. Within hours, if his blood pressure is high or low a nurse calls him to address it. This type of health care delivery has helped him control his high blood pressure because he gets instant results without having to travel the hour it would take him to get the the VA. He can adjust his meds as needed at home or refrain from hollering at my mom for that day.

Conditions of the Cardiovascular System Essay Assignment Papers

Jeff Cole was hospitalized at age 60 for cardiomyopathy with congestive heart failure. As a result of a timely evaluation and diagnosis, Cole had a more positive health outcome than the majority of other patients with his condition. By working closely with Cole to develop a personalized treatment plan, his health care provider was also able to improve his long-term prognosis (St. Anthony’s Medical Center, 2014).

After the initial recovery, patients like Cole often struggle to adhere to treatment plans. However, by collaborating with patients and developing regimes that consider their lifestyle needs, you can help improve health outcomes for patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Cardiovascular conditions are among the leading causes of hospitalization, and they are of particular importance because they often require immediate medical responses. This makes it essential that you not only be able to identify quickly signs and symptoms of these conditions but also be fluent in current evidence-based treatment guidelines. For this Assignment, as you examine this week’s i-Human patient case study, consider how you might evaluate and treat patients who present with cardiovascular conditions. Conditions of the Cardiovascular System Essay Assignment Papers
To prepare:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources. Consider how to assess, diagnose, and treat conditions of the cardiovascular system.
  • Review this week’s i-Human case study. Based on the patient information provided, think about the health history you would need to collect from each patient
  • Consider what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate to help you gather more information about the patient’s condition. Reflect on how the results would be used to make a diagnosis.
  • Identify three to five possible conditions to consider in a differential diagnosis for the patient.
  • Consider the patient’s diagnosis. Think about clinical guidelines that might support this diagnosis.
  • Reflect on a treatment plan for the patient that includes health promotion and patient education strategies.

A basic function of government and a primary goal of the constitution that creates the government is keeping people safe. It is often referred to as exercising “police power.” In the United States, the government’s authority to regulate for the protection of public health and to provide health services is based on police power, which is the power to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the people.
Public health powers were initially exercised at the state and local levels; currently, the federal government plays a large role in the regulation of public health and the provision of health services.
Considering this, respond to the following:

Where in the US Constitution does the government obtain its authority to regulate public health?
Do you believe the government has the authority to ban things that are believed to be harmful, such as trans-fats? Why or why not?
