assessment2 nursing

Prepare two educational handouts (two pages each), one for community members and patients and one for health care providers, that provide information about common bacteria or viruses and how to reduce the risk of infection.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

Preparation

Search the Capella library and the Internet for scholarly and professional peer-reviewed articles on food-borne illness or virus prevention. You will need at least three articles to use as support for your work on this assessment. In addition, look for statistics on cases of food-borne illness or influenza in your community. Sites such as the CDC, WHO, and state or public health departments provide the most current and reliable data.

Directions

Your employer is hosting a Healthy Mind and Body Fair in your community. Your manager has asked for your help in creating educational materials about food-borne illnesses like E.coli or viruses such as influenza. The goal is to provide information about how to reduce the risk of infection. You have been asked to create two informational handouts on the same topic:1.One handout is for participants (community members, patients) that raises awareness about the transmission of common bacteria or viruses and how to prevent the spread of these common infections. Consider health literacy levels when preparing the handout for non-medical populations.2.The second handout is directed at allied health care providers. This material should provide a higher level of information and detail about the subject.

Each handout should cover the following:•Provide information about the illness and transmission.•Provide recent statistics of cases in the community, with sources noted.•Describe the scope of illness (symptoms, severity, adverse outcomes).•Describe both treatment and prevention options, with an emphasis on prevention. •Relay any new research or treatment modalities.•Include information your readers will want to refer to in the future. This includes Web sites or tips for finding additional information or additional resources.

Consider the reader when creating your handouts, and be creative!

Format the handouts as follows:•Break up content into short paragraphs.•Use bullet points and lists whenever possible.•Use sub-headings to isolate different topics within the documents.•Remember, say no more than what is necessary; the urge to say too much can ruin a good handout.

Additional Requirements

Each handout should meet the following criteria:•Contain 500 words (2 pages).•Must be readable, concise, with a logical ordering of ideas.•Include a minimum of three references. (These must be recent, from within the past five years.) The same resources can be used for both handouts.•Provide adequate documentation of ideas and appropriate APA citation of relevant literature.•Assignment submission should include one complete document, prepared as follows: ◦Title page for the participant handout.◦Participant handout.◦Reference page for the participant handout.◦Title page for the allied health care provider handout.◦Allied health care provider handout.◦Reference page for the provider handout.

•Be double spaced in Times New Roman font, 12 point.

Discussion
Current event report. Write a report (1 ½ pages) regarding a current news topic. The report should consist of 3 parts: (1) a narrative regarding the topic, (2) your personal opinion of the topic, and (3) any research materials used to prepare the report. The article must pertain to an aspect of biology. The 1st page should consist of a narrative in your own words summarizing the article. The 2nd half page should consist of your opinion regarding the article and references for your research. The report must be type written using standard Times New Roman 12 point font. Spacing should be single-spaced or at most 1.5 line spacing. Margin justification is 1inch. Any plagiarized work will not receive credit.
Discussion 2
Biography. Write a biography (1 ½ pages) on a person who has contributed to the field of biology. In your report include who the person is, when and where they lived, and what they did. Also, depending on what information is available include more information about their lives. Be sure to put the source(s) at the end of your report. The biography must be type written using standard Times New Roman 12 point font. Spacing should be single-spaced or at most 1.5 line spacing. Margin justification is 1inch. Any plagiarized work will not receive credit.

Veins and arteries are vital elements of the cardiovascular system. They carry the blood supply through the body and are essential for proper function. Sometimes veins and arteries malfunction, resulting in cardiovascular disorders. Malfunctions of arteries and veins are similar to malfunctions of a water hose. Consider the structure and function of a hose. A tap releases water, which then travels through the hose and comes out the other end. If the hose has been dormant for several months, dirt and rusty particles might build up inside, resulting in a restricted flow of water. Similarly, buildup of plaque inside the coronary arteries restricts blood flow and leads to disorders such as coronary heart disease. This disease is one of the most common cardiovascular disorders, and according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (2011), is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. In this Discussion, you examine the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disorders such as coronary heart disease.

To Prepare

· Review this week’s media presentation on alterations of cardiovascular functions, as well as Chapter 24 in the Huether and McCance text. Identify the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disorders.

· Select one patient factor: genetics, gender, ethnicity, age, or behavior. Consider how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disorders.

· Select one of the following alterations of cardiovascular disorders: peripheral arterial disease, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, or dysrhythmia. Think about how hypertension or dyslipidemia can lead to the alteration you selected.

Post a description of the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disorders, including how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology. Then, explain how hypertension or dyslipidemia can lead to the alteration you selected for patients with the factor you identified.

I Want The Answers To Have The Same Meaning But Written Differently

    1.Question
What demographic variables were measured at the nominal level of measurement in the Oh et al.(2014)study?
Answer:The demographic variabless measured at the nominal level include non-smoker,non-drinker,history of fracture, regular exercise and are considered nominal because can be describe by precentages, and mode.
    2.Question
What statistic were calculated to describe body mass index(MBI) in this study? Were these appropiate?
Answer:Mean and standard deviation were the statistic used to calculated BMI.Because BMI is an interval-ratio variable, mean and stadard deviation are appropiate.
    3.Question
Were the distributions of scores for BMI similar for the intervention and control groups?
Answer:The distribution of scores for BMI was similar for intervention and control groups because the mean and standard deviation were very similar.
    4.Question
Was there a significant difference in BMI between the intervention and control groups?
Answer:There was not a significant difference in BMI between the intervention group and the control group.
    5.Question
Bssed on the sample size of N=41,what frequency and percentage of the sample smoked? What frequency and percentage of the sample were non-drinkers(alcohol)?Show your calculations and round to the nearest whole percent.
    Answer:
    Frequency of participants who smoked=0+0=0
    Percentage of participants who smoked=0%
Frequency of participants who were non-drinkers=20+20=40
    6.Question
What measurement method was used to measure the bone mineral density(BMD) for the study participants?Discuss the quality of this measurement method and document your response.
Answer:The bone mineral density (BMD) was measurement by ratio/interval level. The mean and standard deviation equal central location and dispersion gives us the shape of the graph.
    7.Question
What statics was calculated to determine differences between the intervention and control groups for the lumbar and femur neck BMDs?Were the groups significantly different for BMDs?
Answer:The statistic used to to determined the difference between the intervention and control groups for the lumbar and femur neck BMDs was the mean. The value between lumbar and femur neck does not show us a significant difference.
    8.Question
The researchers stated that there were no significant differences in the baseline characteristics of the intervention and control groups(see Table 2).Are these groups heterogeneous or homogeneous at the beginning of the study? Why is this important in testing the effectiveness of the therapeutic lifestyle modification(TLM)program?
Answer: These groups are homogeneous, homogeneous scores are similar, and heterogeneous scores are diferent having a wide variation. This was a key factor because if the groups were heterogeneous the the data results would have been broader and more detailed.I feel as if if we compared the groups with similarities in the beggining, then this allows the results to be more profound when all is concluded.
    9.Question
Oh ET AL.(2014,P.296)stared that adherence rate to the TLM program was 99.6%.Discuss the importance of intervention adherence, and document your response.
Answer:The adherence rate was almost at 100% during the 2 week time period. If the adherence rate would have ben less then the significance and importance of the results would have declined significantlly.I would not put in question the data results as they 99.6% for adherence and the group showed increase.I believe the TLM program is effective.
    10.Question
Was the sample for this study adequately described?
Answer:Yes, the sample was adequate, the group showed that the program worked, the program consisted of a mix of individuals and even though it functioned well, I believe if the study was done with more individuals and done at longer intervals, then it would indicate and show more accurate results.
