Assignment: Ethics Writing Assignment
Ethics plays a vital role in business and the accounting profession. Here is an opportunity to connect your current learning about inventory with the profession’s commitment to ethics.
EC5: Tiffany Lyons was just hired as the assistant treasurer of Key West Stores. The company is a specialty chain store with nine retail stores concentrated in one metropolitan area. Among other things, the payment of all invoices is centralized in one of the departments Tiffany will manage. Her primary responsibility is to maintain the company’s high credit rating by paying all bills when due and to take advantage of all cash discounts.
Jay Barnes, the former assistant treasurer who has been promoted to treasurer, is training Tiffany in her new duties. He instructs Tiffany that she is to continue the practice of preparing all checks “net of discount” and dating the checks on the last day of the discount period. “But,” Jay continues, “we always hold the checks at least 4 days beyond the discount period before mailing them. That way, we get another 4 days of interest on your money. Most of our creditors need our business and don’t complain. And, if they scream about our missing the discount period, we blame it on the mailroom or the post office. We’ve only lost one discount out of every hundred we take that way. I think everybody does it. By the way, welcome to our team!”

Strategic planning occurs within the established governance and structure of K-12 education. A meaningful strategic plan cannot be developed without a clear mission, vision, and goals that are known and understood by all participants in the strategic planning process. Further, an effective strategic plan cannot be developed without the engagement and support of a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, an effective educational leader can analyze the governance and structure of K-12 educational institutions including both internal and external frameworks and the leadership practices required in these areas.
This assignment concerns unified, union high school, and K-8 school districts. Assume that all districts have distinct attendance boundaries, are led by a superintendent, and are governed by a publicly-elected governing board that is required to make all decisions in public meetings. The districts abide by all pertinent state laws and are funded by the state at a set amount per student.
A unified school district serves kindergarten through grade 12. In some cases, the district may also sponsor a preschool on a campus (PK-12). The district administrative structure includes a superintendent and, depending on the size of the district, there also will be additional administrators to oversee areas such as curriculum, human resources, special education, and facilities. The superintendent also supervises school principals.
An elementary district serves students in kindergarten through grade 8 and may also include a preschool (PK-8). The administrative structure is similar to a unified district in that the total enrollment of the district drives the size of the administrative structure. Elementary schools are held accountable for student achievement on annual state-regulated assessments, with particular attention paid to reading achievement for third graders.
A union high school district serves students in grades 9-12. The administrative structure is driven by the student enrollment. Because high schools are generally larger than elementary schools, individual schools often include assistant principals. Districts that serve high school students (unified or union) are held accountable for their graduation rates, dropout rates and student achievement on annual state-regulated assessments.

When you look around at the world, you can see many examples that demonstrate how an object’s or a system’s structure relates to its function. The structure of a highway system, for example, can affect traffic flow. You can, no doubt, think of many other examples.
Your text describes the difference between the organelles in a eukaryotic cell and the simpler structure of a prokaryotic cell as an analogy between the chief executive officer’s (CEO’s) corner office and a cubicle. Organelles are like appliances or pieces of furniture that perform specific functions. You can use analogies to describe the structure and function of these organelles as well. For example, a chloroplast is like a solar panel in that it converts light energy to a more usable form. The alignment of chloroplasts in a leaf is similar to the alignment of a solar array, and so on.
Choose 1 organelle from the following list, and use an analogy to explain its function:

  • Nucleus
  • Golgi
  • Lysosome
  • Mitochondria
  • Chloroplast
  • Endoplasmic reticulum

Based on the analogy you created, describe the most significant differences between your organelle and the object you compared it to. If you compared the chloroplast to a solar panel, you might discuss how the chloroplast not only converts sunlight energy into chemical energy, but also how it stores that energy long term in the carbon-to-carbon bonds of sugar molecules. One of the great drawbacks to solar panels is the lack of an efficient storage system.
Use the following guidelines for your paper:

  • Utilize at least 1 credible source to support the descriptions presented in the paper. Make sure you cite appropriately within your paper and list the reference(s) in APA format on your Reference page.
  • Your paper should be 2–3 paragraphs in length, not counting the Title page and Reference page. In accordance with APA formatting requirements, it should be double-spaced and include a running head and page numbers.
Case Study #5 NURS 6541: Trina is a 9-year-old female who weighs 110 pounds. Vital signs are as follows: BP 122/79, P 98, R 20. Her mother reports she is a picky eater and refuses to eat fruits and vegetables. Her physical activity includes soccer practice for 1 hour a week with one game each weekend from September through November. Family history is negative for myocardial infarction, but both parents take medication for dyslipidemia.
Post an explanation of the differential diagnosis for the patient in the case study you selected. Explain which is the most likely diagnosis for the patient and why. Include an explanation of unique characteristics of the disorder you identified as the primary diagnosis. Then, explain a treatment and management plan for the patient, including appropriate dosages for any recommended treatments. Finally, explain strategies for educating patients and families on the treatment and management of the respiratory, cardiovascular, and/or genetic disorder.

Nursing and policies Essay

Comment on the Nursing and policies Essay student essay below
Just like any other citizen or professional, a nurse is under the authority of the employer as well as of the government. The electoral process affects the type of a government that gets into power, and at the same time, the government affects the policies which are used in institutions (Greer & Lillvis, 2014). Therefore, it is apparent that a government in place can affect the policies which govern institutions. Putting into consideration that institutions also play a significant role in making the life of the citizens easier, some issues in the policy might affect the lives of nurses in different ways.
ORDER A CUSTOM-WRITTEN PAPER NOW
Policies which might affect the lives of nurses from different perspectives are policies which deal with the time that a nurse should report and leave work, the policies that dictate the salaries of the nurses, and the policies that are concerned with the employment of nurses (Greer & Lillvis, 2014). The time that a person or rather a nurse reports and leaves work is very paramount when it comes to the nurse discharging his or her duty as a professional and as a family member. When more time is spent at work, a nurse lacks enough time to spend with the family, and that might affect the nurse. At the same time, when it comes to what a nurse should be paid, having a policy in place that decreases the salary of a nurse is likely to influence the life of a nurse negatively. A nurse is a human being and he or she ought to be stressed by the working environment. When there are no enough employees, one might find him or herself in a situation where the working environment affects him or her. With this in mind, a policy that deals with the employment of extra nurses affects the life of nurses both professionally and individually.

The Research Process

1. Choose a poem we have read so far that you like and are intrigued by.
2. Use the library databases to find an article on that poem or on the poet who wrote it. It can be literary criticism (someone’s article about their interpretation of the poem) or biographical (details about the poet’s life and background). Don’t use an article about a different poem, though.
3. Read the article and highlight passages that you think are interesting, or that make good points. It’s okay if you don’t understand everything in the entire article – literary criticism can be challenging to read! Focus on the points that you do understand. If you feel like the entire article is confusing, choose a different one, though. No one wants you to feel lost and confused.
4. Write a brief paragraph (three or four sentences is great) about the poem or poet. Incorporate at least one quote from the poem and one quote from the article. Remember that quotes should be integrated into your own sentences. There’s an example below. If you’re not sure how to format your quote, click this link for the Purdue OWL guide.
5. Include internal citations for your quotations. Poems should be cited with author’s last name and a line number (line of the poem the quote comes from). Articles should be cited with author’s last name and a page number. There’s an example below, but if you need more help with internal citations, click this link for Purdue OWL’s guide to that.
6. Include a Works Cited list for your paragraph. It should include the poem and the article. Remember that the database can usually provide the citation in MLA format for you. For more help and examples of Works Cited page, click this link for the Purdue OWL guide to Works Cited pages.
In Adrienne Rich’s poem “Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers,” the speaker describes her aunt Jennifer as “terrified” (9) and “mastered by” (10) conflicts in her life. The speaker’s description gives readers as much information about her, the niece, as it does about the aunt. As one scholar argues, the speaker is making “judgments” about Aunt Jennifer (Rizza 65). Jennifer is, after all, able to “flutter” (Rich 5) her hands to do needlework, though the speaker views her hands as being under the “massive weight” of a wedding band (Rich 7). Michael Rizza sees this description as “contradictory,” and attributes the symbolic weight of the ring to “the niece’s judgment more than actual description” (65). It is not clear that Aunt Jennifer feels as weighed down as her niece perceives her to be.
