In your third meeting with the CIO, she explains that she must make a presentation to her peers on the executive team, including the chief operating officer, chief medical officer, chief nursing officer, chief financial officer, and CEO. The purpose is to teach them about the importance of rigorous and structured risk management.
They believe they worry too much about risk and issues that may not occur. However, the CIO has found that when unexpected events occur, especially events related to IT, she is asked, “How could this have happened?” She would like you to prepare a presentation describing the reasons for risk management planning and high-level steps in performing risk management.
Create a 7 slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation describing the reasons for risk management planning and high-level steps in performing risk management. Your presentation should:

Analyze the steps in identifying risks in a health care IT project.
Explain the stakeholders involved in the project.

Explain the benefits to the company upon completion of this project.
Analyze the risks that may affect the project.

Analyze the characteristics of the risks.
Analyze why it is important to consider these risks throughout the project.
Analyze how to correct the identified risks.
Explain how the project will be implemented.
Explain how the project will be monitored for ongoing risks.

Cite at least 3 reputable references. One reference must be your textbook, Managing Risk in Information Systems. Reputable references include trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality.
Format your presentation according to APA guidelines. Include a title page, detailed speaker notes, and a references page.

Defining and Measuring Quality in Health Care Organizations
Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort. —John Ruskin  Quality is multidimensional and involves the perspectives of various stakeholders, including patients and families. As noted in this week’s Learning Resources, defining quality is not a simple, straightforward task. Yet, it provides an essential foundation for being able to measure and assess quality, and, ultimately, to improve it.  In this Discussion, you consider definitions and measurements of quality. As you proceed, think about why it is important for organizations to be able to quantify quality and compare current performance to previous performance, to a set of standards, and/or to performance in other organizations.   To prepare: •Review the information in the Learning Resources, especially the chapters in the Sadeghi, Brazi, Mikhail, and Shabot course text, focusing on how quality is or could be defined and measured. •Think about a health care organization with which you are familiar. It may be the same organization you are focusing on for your Course Project, or a different one. How do you think various stakeholders in this organization would define quality? How would you define quality as it relates to this organization? •Review the information on quality standards and / or aims in the Learning Resources, and consider the following: ◦Which outcomes related to quality are currently being monitored in the organization that you have selected? ◦How is related data collected and evaluated? ◦Does the organization use health information technology in this regard? If so, how? ◦How is quality-related information (e.g., data, needs for improvement) communicated throughout the organization? ◦What do you consider to be the strengths and weaknesses of the current approach to quality in this organization?
By Day 3  Post a definition of quality for your selected organization. Describe at least one quality-related measure that is currently being monitored within the organization.
Summarize the data collection process for this measure, and explain how this information is communicated to or among the staff. Identify at least one strength and one weakness related to how quality is defined, measured, and/or monitored within the organization.

TELENURSING PAPER

You have worked with Tomika for the past 5 years. Tomika shares with you that she has resigned and plans to work in an agency that installs telemonitoring equipment into the homes of those with chronic illnesses. Nurses monitor the patients using the equipment with the goal of detecting problems before patients need to be readmitted to the hospital. Tomika will be working from her own home, with occasional meetings at the agency. She would not be visiting her patients in their homes, but rather would be assessing and interacting with them via videoconferencing. She tells you that there are still job openings and encourages you to apply. You are intrigued by this, and decide to investigate whether telenursing would be a good choice for you, too. Is telenursing in your future? Directions 1. research (find evidence), compose, and type a scholarly paper that describes telenursing as described above, and whether it is a good fit for you. Reflect on what you have learned in this class to date about technology, privacy rights, ethical issues, interoperability, patient satisfaction, consumer education, and other topics. Your text by Hebda (2013, Chapter 25) discusses telehealth in detail. However, your focus should be from the professional nurse’s role in telenursing. Do not limit your review of the literature to only what you read in your text. Nurses in various specialties need to know about the advantages and disadvantages of telenursing as it applies to their patients. For example, when you discharge a patient from an acute care setting, will a telenursing service assist that individual with staying out of the hospital? You may need to apply critical-thinking skills to development of your telenursing paper. In the conclusion of your paper, describe your current employment situation, and whether a job in telenursing would, or would not, fit with your career goals and life situation once you graduate from Chamberlain. 2. Use Microsoft Word and APA formatting to develop your paper. Consult the Publication manual of the APA, 6th edition if you have questions, for example, margin size, font type and size (point), use of third person, and so forth. Take advantage of the writing service, Smarthinking, which is accessed by clicking on the link called the Tutor Source, found under the Course Home area. Also, review and use the various documents in Doc Sharing related to APA. 3. The length of the paper should be four to five pages, excluding the title page and the reference page. Limit your references to key sources. 4. The paper should contain an introduction that catches the attention of the reader with interesting facts and supporting sources of evidence, which need to be mentioned as in-text citations. Keep in mind that APA guidelines state you are not to call this an Introduction, but you should include it at the beginning of your paper. The Body should present the advantages and disadvantages of telenursing from your perspective as an employee, and the patient’s perspective as a recipient of the care nurses provide. The Conclusion and Recommendations of this telenursing paper should summarize your findings and state your position on whether you will apply for a position with the agency.

Strain Theory  Chapter 6          Due Monday 11/16/2020 by 5:00 PM
Answer all questions.

  1. Define strain theory? Why is it a structural issue? Hint: So, people are taught to want things via culture/mass media, yes!  But, how do they get things (materialism)? What happens to people who want things but there is no ladder to reach things.  What do they do? They want the goals, the cars, money, etc., they accept the goals, but they have to “innovate” that is, go around the ladder because there is no ladder, to reach the goals.  And, others have many advantages to get things, so for them, not as much structural strain? The ladder is already there for them.  Money, social class, inheritance, is there so, no need to go around the ladder.
  2. Again, the strain comes from the culture putting it out there to want things, but, no way to get there for many. Except go around the system
  3. In what ways does do strain theories explain the behavior of street gangs?
  4. Which version of strain theories would best explain the overrepresentation of of homicides in inner-city areas?
  5. According to general strain theory , what factors would likely lead to criminal behavior?
  6. According to Robert K. Merton there are 5 individual modes of adaptation to structural stress, not all of them deviant. People respond to this structural stress in different ways.  Explain in detail each of these 5 individual modes of adaptation. DO NOT merely list these modes, but EXPLAIN  EACH ONE.
  7. Thinking about your own life, what sorts of negative strains have you experiences? How did you deal with them? (negative strain=negative relationships one cannot escape from. Such as when adolescents cannot leave a relationship if they experiences them as “noxious.” And, if they try to escape from a bad situation they may then be arrested for truancy or running away)

Below are some ideas to think about concerning strain theory……for example:

  1. K. Cohen

1 Lower class Americans embrace the middle class ethic
2 Socialization of the lower class hinders their ability to compete
3 Decreased ability to compete produces strain
4 Increased strain produces identification with delinquent subculture
The delinquent subculture
Identification with delinquent subculture produces delinquent behavior

  1. Cloward and Ohlin
  2. Success ethic is a prized possession of all Americans
  3. Opportunities for success are not distributed equally through the class structure
  4. Blocked opportunities produce strain
  5. Strain produces delinquent subcultures

1) criminal subculture
2) conflict subculture
3) retreatist subculture

  1. Delinquent subcultures produce delinquent behavior?
  2. Impact on social policy?

1) Mobilization for Youth
2) War on Poverty (heroic theme)

  1. Adequacy of Strain Theory- conceptually
  2. determinism
  3. class
  4. American dream
  5. school failure
  6. sense of strain
  7. delinquent subculture

Assessment 3. Application of strengths-based nursing principles

Emma Gee case study

Using any of the resources available related to the Emma Gee case study presented throughout the unit, develop a discussion on how strengths-based nursing and healthcare could be implemented for Emma at any point of her journey, or across the whole of her journey (hypothetically as if Emma was to experience her healthcare journey again).

Your discussion should
provide an overview of what is strengths-based nursing synthesising the principles and values of SBN
demonstrate how strengths-based nursing could be implemented in Emma’s nursing care to address the healthcare needs raised in Emma’s case study (specifically identify which healthcare need you are addressing using evidence from one of the resources available to you presenting the Emma Gee case),
select one critical transition point in Emma’s journey (e.g. immediate post-surgical care while Emma was unconscious; nursing care following Emma regaining consciousness; admission to rehabilitation; discharge planning from rehabilitation; etc) and present a strengths-based nursing care plan for Emma that includes a holistic approach, a family focus and collaboration with Emma, her family and other healthcare professionals involved in Emma’s care,
summarise the nursing care practices and client outcomes you would expect from implementing strengths-based nursing care complementing the medical model focus,
offer your conclusion on how SBN can help achieve patient and family empowerment, health promotion and partnerships in healthcare in Australia.

The workshop workbook and the learning activities in the 2-day workshop will assist you to complete this assessment task. The first and second assessments will be formative towards completing assessment 3.

Problem 1
A popular consumer staple was displayed in different locations in the same aisle of a grocery store to determine what, if any, effect different placement might have on its sales. The product was placed at one of three heights on the aisle – low, medium, and high – and at one of three locations in the store – at the front of the store, at the middle of the store, and at the rear of the store. The number of units sold of the product at various height and distance combinations was recorded each week for five weeks, and the following results were obtained:
The data can be found in staple.xlsx. What effect does the product location have on the sales?
Where would you suggest to place the staples?
For this you should:
(a) Produce a profile plot of the mean number of items sold.
Comment on this graph and relate it to your future planned tests.
(b) Analyze the data with an analysis of variance. Perform all the necessary tests (including testing for interaction and, if necessary, for main effects), and state the hypotheses and conclusions for all of them. When testing for interaction, make sure you explain what interaction means in the context of this problem.
(c) Perform any relevant comparison of means procedures. Use Tukey’s Method.
(d) State your recommendations on where the product should be placed.

Topic : The benefits of a free enterprise system.
Total 4 pages with coverpaper 5
Research Paper: This is a graduate course and students will be expected to research and write papers summarizing in their own words what they have found on current topics from the weekly readings. Research is a theoretical review of relevant literature and application of findings in the literature to a topic related to a specific industry, field, or business problem.
The research must be conducted using peer-reviewed trade or academic journals. While Blogs, Wikipedia, encyclopedias, course textbooks, popular magazines, newspaper articles, online websites, etc. are helpful for providing background information, these resources are NOT suitable resources for this research assignment.
Please Note: The UC Library staff are very helpful with assisting students in using the UC Online Library journal database. Please contact them if you have issues. In addition, the instructor has provided additional resources, including a research tutorial, in the “Course Resources” folder in the “Content” area of the course.
Assignment Requirements:

  1. Choose a research topic from the chapter readings or from the list provided by your professor.
  2. Research/find a minimum at least four (4), preferably five (5) or more, different peer-reviewed articles on your topic from the University of the Cumberlands Library online business database. The article(s) must be relevant and from a peer-reviewed source. While you may use relevant articles from any time frame, current/published within the last five (5) years are preferred. Using literature that is irrelevant or unrelated to the chosen topic will result in a point reduction.
  3. Write a four (4) to five (5) page double spaced paper in APA format discussing the findings on your specific topic in your own words. Note – paper length does not include cover page, abstract, or references page(s).
  4. Structure your paper as follows:
    1. Cover page
    2. Overview describing the importance of the research topic to current business and professional practice in your own words.
    3. Purpose of Research should reflect  the potential benefit of the topic to the current business and professional practice and the larger body of research.
    4. Review of the Literature summarized in your own words. Note that this should not be a “copy and paste” of literature content, nor should this section be substantially filled with direct quotes from the article. A literature review is a summary of the major points and findings of each of the selected articles (with appropriate citations). Direct quotations should be used sparingly. Normally, this will be the largest section of your paper (this is not a requirement; just a general observation).
    5. Practical Application of the literature. Describe how your findings from the relevant research literature can shape, inform, and improve current business and professional practice related to your chosen topic.
    6. Conclusion in your own words
    7. References formatted according to APA style requirements
Write an essay about Wedow vs. city of Kansas, Missouri fire department. The essay should be well organized, that is, it has an introduction, body, and conclusion (900 words).
The introduction should introduce the topic.
In the body paragraphs, the following points should be discussed:
Paragraph 1:
Are you surprised that this is a 2016 case? Why or why not? (300 words)
Paragraph 2:
Why do you think the fire department treated the female employees as it did? (300 words)
Paragraph 3:
How do you think the fire department should have ‘responded when the women registered complaints, about their uniforms? Explain (300 words)
