Below, you will find an outline of topics that should be addressed in your Final Project. You are not required to exactly follow this outline; however, you must be certain that each component is clearly addressed in your final design.  During the term, you have developed all of the groundwork for your Final Project, but now you must create a cohesive document. For example, although stakeholders may be mentioned, it would not be necessary—and could be unwise—to include all of the detail that may have been considered in the design phase. As another example, simply pasting in the logic model with no explanation would not prove enlightening for any reader who is unfamiliar with the logic model process.
Although your project for this course is only a design document and not a full report, you will find it useful to review your Learning Resources. Many of the same points and principles apply equally well at the research design stage.
Your Final Project will include the following elements along with an explanation!

  • Problem definition and intervention description
  •  logframe
  • Development of indicators
  • Data collection strategy
  • Evaluation design, needs assessment, or formative or summative impact evaluation
  • Data analysis strategy
  • Stakeholder requirements

Based on what you have learned so far this week, create a PowerPoint presentation with detailed notes for each slide that addresses each of the following points/questions.

Scenario: A gravida two, para-one 34 year old woman comes into the office for pre-natal care. She is 28 weeks pregnant. Her blood pressure is 160/90 with a weight of 220 lbs and a height of 5’1. Her previous blood pressure at her visit 4 weeks ago was 122/ 78. Her previous weight was 210 lbs. She reports a history of gestational diabetes. Her fasting glucose is 108 with an A1C of 6.0.

Assignment 1: Biology Article
Use the Internet to research aspects of biology.
Select an article from a magazine or newspaper that has something in it that pertains to biology. This will serve as the “target article” for this assignment. For instance, you can select an article about medicine, invasive species, nature, conservation, genetic technology, ecology, or any other topic that is related to biology. One purpose of this assignment is to help you become aware of how biology is related to your everyday life.
Write a one to three (1-3) page paper in which you:

  1. Summarize the article in one (1) or more paragraphs, using your own words. Be sure to identify the article using an in-text citation in the body of the paper, as well as a reference in the reference section.
  2. Explain how the article relates to this course. Identify which biological concepts from the course and / or text are relevant to the topic covered in the article.
