Socialization process for the new nurse essay
What is the socialization process for the new nurse – is their lived experienced what you expected to find?
Where are you in your socialization process?
After completing your required readings, consider the socialization processes you experienced as a student nurse and as a new graduate. Using one of the models for socialization that Black describes, identify where you think you are today in your socialization process and what that means in your professional growth. You are now ‘set’ for discovery! Socialization process for the new nurse essay.
Interview a new nurse:
Since many of you have been nurses for quite some time, it’s important for us to also know the reality of the socialization process for our new nurses. Your Socialization process for the new nurse essay assignment this week is to interview a new nurse (someone who graduated less than 2 years ago) about their socialization process to nursing.)
APA citation and references required! Socialization process for the new nurse essay

Please answer each of these questions with at least a paragraph of writing (6-7 sentences). Also include specific passages (with page numbers) in your answers. Having these passages to refer to later will help you write your essay.

“The Jungle” a book written by Upton Sinclair and find quotes in the book for proof with page number. I want this to be finished in 4 hours!!!
1) I’d like  you to describe your feelings as things got worse and worse for Jurgis and his family. Was Sinclair Lewis effective in “pulling your heart strings” with his description of abject misery? Why or why not?
2) What are the most conspicuous (jumps at at you) elements of societal organization that existed in 1906 that don’t exist anymore (or at least not to the degree they did then)? What I’m asking you to think about with this question is the living conditions of the family, the working conditions, the general state of their neighborhood, etc.)
3) As you are reading, is there a “way out” for Jurgis and his family you wished they would have taken? If there is, how would do you think it would play out for the family if they took it? If there isn’t, describe why you don’t think there is.
4) As things descend into ever more difficulty, Jurgis’s personality changes (he becomes moody, depressed, violent). Describe the significance of this change in his character and how this change can be read as a commentary of the structural effects of poverty? How does what happens to Jurgis’s family (the young boys “running with the wrong crowd,” Jurgis beating young Stanislovas) contradict an ideology that suggests one can overcome dire straights (really bad situations) by sheer force for will?

7. Assessment Feedback

Feedback on items of assessment can be formal (such as on a signed feedback form) or informal (such as advice from a tutor in a tutorial). Feedback is therefore not just your grade or the comments written on your feedback form, it is advice you get from your tutor and sometimes your peers about how your work is progressing, how well you have done, what further actions you might take. HSO5000: Group Dynamics and Working in Teams Essay Assessment Papers.
We recognise the value of prompt feedback on work submitted. Other than in exceptional circumstances (such as might be caused by staff illness), you can expect your assignment and examination work to be marked and feedback provided not more than 15 working days from the deadline date. However, please note that that such feedback will be provisional and unconfirmed until the Assessment Board has met and may therefore be subject to change.
Please take time you read or listen to your assessment feedback. This can be very useful in determining your strengths and key areas for development, and can therefore help you improve on future grades.

11. Guidelines for the Preparation and Submission of Written AssessmentsAdapt for other formats

  1. Written assessments should be word-processed in Arial or Calibri Light font size 12. There should be double-spacing and each page should be numbered. HSO5000: Group Dynamics and Working in Teams Essay Assessment Papers.
  1. There should be a title page identifying the programme name, module title, assessment title, your student number, your marking tutor and the date of submission.
  2. You should include a word-count at the end of the assessment (excluding references, figures, tables and appendices).

Where a word limit is specified, the following penalty systems applies:
·         Up to 10% over the specified word length = no penalty
·         10 – 20% over the specified indicative word length = 5 marks subtracted (but if the assessment would normally gain a pass mark, then the final mark to be no lower than the pass mark for the assessment).
·         More than 20% over the indicative word length = if the assessment would normally gain a pass mark or more, then the final mark will capped at the pass mark for the assessment.

  1. All written  work should be referenced using the standard University of Bolton referencing style– see: http://www.bolton.ac.uk/bissto/Finding-Information/Referencing/Home.aspx

  1. Unless otherwise notified by your Module Tutor, electronic copies of assignments should be saved as word documents and uploaded into Turnitin via the Moodle class area. If you experience problems in uploading your work, then you must send an electronic copy of your assessment to your Module Tutor via email BEFORE the due date/time.

6.      Please note that when you submit your work to Moodle, it will automatically be checked for matches against other electronic information. The individual percentage text matches may be used as evidence in an academic misconduct investigation (see Section 13).

  1. Late work will be subject to the penalties:
  2. Up to 7 calendar days late = 10 marks subtracted but if the assignment would normally gain a pass mark, then the final mark to be no lower than the pass mark for the assignment.
  3. More than 7 calendar days late = 1 mark awarded
  4. In the case of exceptional and unforeseen circumstances, an extension of up to 14 days after the assessment deadline may be granted. This must be agreed by your Programme Leader, following a discussion the Module Tutor.  You should complete an Extension Request Form available from your Tutor and attach documentary evidence of your circumstances, prior to the published submission deadline. HSO5000: Group Dynamics and Working in Teams Essay Assessment Papers.

Requests for extensions for periods longer than 14 calendar days must be made using the Mitigating Circumstances procedures.
Requests for extensions which take a submission date past the end of the module (normally week 15) must also be made using the Mitigating Circumstances procedures.
See: http://www.bolton.ac.uk/Everything/StudentInfoPolicyZone/2017-18-Documents/MItigating-Circumstances-Regulations-and-Procedures-2017-18.pdf

It is therefore important that you keep multiple copies of your work on different storage devices before submitting it. HSO5000: Group Dynamics and Working in Teams Essay Assessment Papers.

12. Procedures for Examinations (NOT APPLICABLE)

13. Academic Misconduct

Here is a sample outline

Introduction:

Technology and health in modern society

Purpose of your analysis/Report

Background/Literature Review:

What role does internet access, use of cell phones have in health care, health care access, and health information seeking?

What type of health information do adults seek online?

Are there age differences in health information seeking?

Are there gender differences in health information seeking?

Method:

Describe the methods for developing your report as a secondary data analysis.  Look up what is meant by secondary data analysis and provide that description in the context of your report. Make sure you cite your sources.

Include here what variables you will be analyzing for your report.  For example, some people may look at variables Q20 through Q22o for ideas on what to analyze.

Results:

Report the descriptive characteristics of your sample in a single table (e.g. breakdown by gender, age, etc. Report the characteristics using the table provided. Of course, you need to fill in the data. To run the frequencies to get the information to complete the table, assign missing values first, then you can run all the frequencies at once by including all the variables you need in the frequency analysis.

What did the other variables that you used to examine health information seeking show?

Discussion/Conclusion:

What did you find out from your study?

Using the case study below, you will analyze an existing business problem, create a secure network topology, and write a security plan. Your written paper should be completed in word and consist of a Cover page, four to five-page written pages and a bibliography for cited references.
Case Study:
You are a consultant working with a dental office that has just merged with another dental practice. The original office housed three dentists, two dental assistants, and one receptionist in one location. With the merger, there are now five offices in different parts of the city, 15 dentists, 12 dental assistants, and five receptionists. Four of the dentists work in the offices but also are mobile in that they provide dental checkups to elderly patients in their homes or at the senior citizen centers, and to school children in the three inner-city elementary schools. The mobile dentists need to be able to send and receive patient records while they are out of the office. All the dentists and dental assistants must have real-time access to all patient records and daily schedules. The lead dentist has reminded you that they are required to meet HIPAA requirements for protecting patient information. You, as a telecommunications specialist, have been asked to design the telecommunications network to support this new multi-location practice. Others on the team will develop the applications and databases. Your task is to identify the requirements and design a network solution that will meet those requirements.

  1. Analyze the given case and provide a clear set of solutions for the network solution.
  2. Identify the information that is to be protected and the related security requirements.
  3. Identify the network components, security hardware, devices and equipment that would be involved in meeting the needs of the stationary offices and the mobile dentists.

Unit 2 Assignment 2 -Deliverable 1: Analyze the Business Problem

  1. Analyze the given case and provide a clear set of solutions for the network solution.
  2. Identify the information that is to be protected and the related security requirements.
  3. Identify the network components, security hardware, devices and equipment that would be involved in meeting the needs of the stationary offices and the mobile dentists.

Scoring Guide

Prepare two educational handouts (two pages each), one for community members and patients and one for health care providers, that provide information about common bacteria or viruses and how to reduce the risk of infection.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

Preparation

Search the Capella library and the Internet for scholarly and professional peer-reviewed articles on food-borne illness or virus prevention. You will need at least three articles to use as support for your work on this assessment. In addition, look for statistics on cases of food-borne illness or influenza in your community. Sites such as the CDC, WHO, and state or public health departments provide the most current and reliable data.

Directions

Your employer is hosting a Healthy Mind and Body Fair in your community. Your manager has asked for your help in creating educational materials about food-borne illnesses like E.coli or viruses such as influenza. The goal is to provide information about how to reduce the risk of infection. You have been asked to create two informational handouts on the same topic:1.One handout is for participants (community members, patients) that raises awareness about the transmission of common bacteria or viruses and how to prevent the spread of these common infections. Consider health literacy levels when preparing the handout for non-medical populations.2.The second handout is directed at allied health care providers. This material should provide a higher level of information and detail about the subject.

Each handout should cover the following:•Provide information about the illness and transmission.•Provide recent statistics of cases in the community, with sources noted.•Describe the scope of illness (symptoms, severity, adverse outcomes).•Describe both treatment and prevention options, with an emphasis on prevention. •Relay any new research or treatment modalities.•Include information your readers will want to refer to in the future. This includes Web sites or tips for finding additional information or additional resources.

Consider the reader when creating your handouts, and be creative!

Format the handouts as follows:•Break up content into short paragraphs.•Use bullet points and lists whenever possible.•Use sub-headings to isolate different topics within the documents.•Remember, say no more than what is necessary; the urge to say too much can ruin a good handout.

Additional Requirements

Each handout should meet the following criteria:•Contain 500 words (2 pages).•Must be readable, concise, with a logical ordering of ideas.•Include a minimum of three references. (These must be recent, from within the past five years.) The same resources can be used for both handouts.•Provide adequate documentation of ideas and appropriate APA citation of relevant literature.•Assignment submission should include one complete document, prepared as follows: ◦Title page for the participant handout.◦Participant handout.◦Reference page for the participant handout.◦Title page for the allied health care provider handout.◦Allied health care provider handout.◦Reference page for the provider handout.

•Be double spaced in Times New Roman font, 12 point.

The US Census Bureau reports that there are nearly seven billion people in the world (US Census Bureau, 2011). The increase in population size over recent decades has created, and will continue to create, environmental and public health concerns. A larger population consumes already limited resources and energy and creates more waste and pollution. A larger population also exacerbates public health issues. For example, a boost in population size can lead to an increase in rates of infectious disease, homelessness, and poverty.

Currently, different parts of the world have varying population growth rates. Population growth in more developed countries is slowing down. For example, between 2005 and 2010, women from North America had an average of only two children in their lifetime. However, population growth rates in developing countries are still quite high. Specifically, between 2005 and 2010, women from Africa had an average of 4.6 children in their lifetime (United Nations: Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division, 2007).

In this assignment, you will estimate future population sizes and their potential link to environmental health.

Using the readings for this module, Argosy University online library resources, as well as resources from reliable academic or governmental organizations, write a paper that addresses the following:

  • Estimate the predicted population size for the world in the year 2060. Be sure to justify your estimate as well as cite and explain the resources you used.
  • Identify a single disease that significantly increases in prevalence when the human population increases in size. Address the following based on this information:
    • Why is this issue likely to increase with an increasing population size?
    • Are there any countries in particular that will be affected by this issue more than others? What will cause this discrepancy?
    • How are food supply and nutrition impacted by the increasing population size? When considering nutrition, do you think some countries will be more susceptible than others? Explain and support your answer.
    • What are governmental agencies currently doing to prevent or mitigate concerns of inadequate food supply and nutrition because of population growth?
    • Based on your research, do you believe that these policies would change if the population growth increases dramatically by 2060?

Support your statements with scholarly references and appropriate examples.

Write a 2–3-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

On average, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 23 percent of the global disease burden can be attributed to the environment (World Resources Institute, n.d.).

In this assignment, you will use an interactive map to identify world patterns of environmental hazards through mortality rates. WHO has published a map providing the percentage of deaths around the world that are attributed to environmental issues from 2004. Access this map using the link given below and review the values listed for different countries:

  • World Health Organization (WHO). (2004). Public health and environment (PHE): Percentage of deaths and DALYs attributable to the environment, 2004 deaths. Retrieved fromhttp://web.archive.org/web/20130721135735/http:/gamapserver.who.int/gho/interactive_charts/phe/total_percentage/atlas.html

Based on your research, complete the following:

  • Identify the top five countries that have the highest percentage of deaths attributable to environmental problems. Are the countries that you identified considered developed or developing nations?
  • Identify the five countries that have the lowest percentage of deaths attributed to environmental problems. Are the countries you chose considered developed or developing nations?
  • Examine whether developed nations have higher or lower mortality rates caused by environmental issues (as defined by WHO) than developing nations.
  • Examine the countries with higher mortality rates from environmental issues on the WHO map. Do they have high or low population sizes when compared to those countries with lower mortality rates?
  • Explain your position on whether the population size is directly correlated with the environmental issues. Are there other factors or health determinants, such as social or economic factors, impacting this issue?
  • Examine whether the environmental issues would subside if population sizes decreased and were maintained.

Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, respond to the following:

  • Choosing one nation from the higher percentage and one from the lower percentage, identify a minimum of two of their environmental problems that can be linked to their mortality rates.
  • Examine any similarities between their environmental problems and those in your neighborhood.

Support your statements with scholarly references and appropriate examples.

Write your initial response in a minimum of 350 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Recent environmental disasters have significantly impacted the human population in multiple ways. In this assignment, you will identify a recent environmental disaster and discuss potential correlated health impacts.

Begin this assignment by identifying one recent example of an environmental disaster. For example, the BP oil spill or the earthquakes in Haiti or Japan.

Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online resources, and the Internet, write a research paper including the following:

  • Provide a description of the environmental event/disaster you have identified. Include the following points:
    • Consider if the event was caused by humans or natural.
    • Examine the direct and indirect impact on immediate- and long-term public health.
    • Identify data regarding mortality and/or morbidity outcomes, if available.
    • Explain the geographical impact with respect to health. Also consider the number of lives lost, environmental damage, economic fallout, and long-term repercussions or impact.
    • Examine the research on the likelihood of this event recurring.
  • Identify and describe the immediate- and long-term emergency response plans and efforts to the disaster you have selected. Be sure to identify which groups, organizations, and/or governments led or are leading the response efforts and the various players who participated or are participating in this response.
  • Examine the lessons learned from previous responses to similar disasters. List at least three recommendations for protecting public health from a recurrence and/or the aftermath of similar disasters in the future.
