Research Utilization · I am only responsible for Part A, and study (subtitle) #3 · Topic is Mental health for trauma survivors Subtitle #3 Components of Synopsis: What was the purpose of the study (research questions, purposes, and hypotheses)? How was the sample obtained? What inclusion or exclusion criteria were used? Who from the sample actually participated or contributed data? What methods were used to collect data (e,g., sequence of events, timing, types of data , and measures)? Was an intervention/treatment/clinical protocol tested? Explain What were the main findings of this study? Research Utilization The purpose of this paper is to describe a global health problem that can be explored through nursing research, discuss how this health problem is applicable in both the United States and other countries of the world, and critique four research studies that have been done on the topic. This is a scholarly paper. DO NOT use the first person. The paper should be 8 – 10 pages (not including the title, abstract, and reference pages.). You must use a minimum of 3 research articles for your paper. The research articles will be discussed in the body of the paper, properly cited, and properly identified in the references. APA format for citing is required. Use what you’ve learned about the components of nursing research and strategies for critiquing research to guide your selection of appropriate research study articles. All THREE of the research study articles MUST BE written by nurses and published in a peer-reviewed nursing journal. At least ONE of the three nursing research studies must address nursing practice in another country. Part A: The first part of the paper should clearly define the global health problem, and discuss why it is important for nursing. Discuss how this problem is viewed in the United States and how it is viewed in another country. For example, if the focus is adult hypertension, discuss guidelines for defining hypertension in the US and in another country. ( we are doing mental health for trauma survivors) Use the heading Part A for this section. Part B: The second part of the paper will include an Appraisal synopsis for each of the research studies that you have selected for your topic. This part of the paper will discuss what is known about the health problem in the United States population and at least one other country of the world. For example, in regards to hypertension, you may choose four research study articles done by nurse researchers that looked at interventions to improve medication compliance, or the effect of diet and exercise in reducing elevated blood pressure. Use the heading Part B for this section. Then use the subheading Study #1-Nursing research study in the USA. Appraise and critique the article following the components of synopsis shown below. Begin by providing the article citation, then provide a synopsis of the article by answering the questions in Components of Synopsis. Conclude by discussing implications for practice, policy or further research as it relates to Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #2- Nursing research study non-USA. Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #3 (this can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Next use the subheading Study #4 (this can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for subheading Study #1. Part C: This is the conclusion of your paper, and summarizes the key points that you have addressed in your paper.

Case #1:
You are the accounting manager of SKI Co., a private company located in Quebec. SKI follows ASPE and has an August 31styear end.  SKI distributes products for the downhill ski and snowboarding markets. SKI’s bank requires audited financial statements and requires it to maintain a debt to equity ratio lower than 0.5.
The company was purchased a couple of years ago and the owner has hired a research team to develop some of its own products.  The team is excited about a new product, SKIdat. It is a smart device that attaches to a skier helmet and would provide data on the skier’s speed, route, altitude, provide route suggestions, as well as take video and photos.
SKI expensed $200,000 in the 2019 fiscal year in relation to the SKIdat product research.   During the current 2020 fiscal year, the research team incurred a further $850,000 to get a fully functioning prototype completed in March.  Market research was completed that showed a solid market for the product. Since March, a further $400,000 has been spent on engineering costs to fine-tune the product to make it manufacture ready. SKI is currently negotiating with the bank for a loan to purchase equipment to be able to manufacture the product for sale.
It is now late August and you are preparing for the upcomingAugust 31st 2020 year end. You have been asked to prepare a memo to the CFO on your recommendations for the accounting for the SKIdat expenditures.
Required
Prepare the memo to the CFO.

You are a senior manager for the highly successful regional CPA firm of Fine, Dee, Evah, Dense, LLP(Fine). Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, Fine’s audit practice has exclusively consisted of auditing private and not-for-profit organizations. Recently, the partners have been considering an opportunity to audit a publically-traded company for the company your team has selected.
The primary reason Fine has not heretofore ventured into auditing publically-traded companies is because of the potential risk and legal liability associated with auditing public companies. However, Fine has been a bit stagnant, business-wise, for the past few years, and some of the older and more risk-adverse partners are beginning to retire. Consequently, the lure of the often-lucrative and prestigious opportunity to audit a public company has become too hard to resist, so the partners have decided to pursue the chance to audit this company.
On a beautiful early-September morning you are called into the senior partner’s office and told you and your team have been selected to lead the first-ever effort to audit a publically-traded company for Fine. You are honored, but also know auditing a public company is a bit more tricky and complicated than auditing private and not-for-profit organizations. Fortunately, the senior partner had considerable experience early in his career with another firm in auditing public companies and told you he would be with you all the way.  Relieved, you asked him what he wanted you to do. He tossed you the most recent Form 10-K of the company you selectedand gave you the following assignments:
Review and discussthe Form 10-K for the company you have selected.
Createa report that will have 4 sections.
I only need section 4 completed. The company I choose is American Express
Section 4, Audit Tests
The reading in Chapter 13 (p. 402-407) describes five types of audit tests of financial statements:
(1)  Risk Assessment Procedures
(2)  Test of Controls
(3)  Substantive Tests of Transactions
(4)  Analytical Procedures
(5)  Tests of Details of Balances.
In 350- to 700-words:
Identifywhich tests are best suited for the company you selected and why.
Explainwhy some tests are not suitable.

Write a 4–6 page impact report to senior leadership that identifies a nursing-related challenge, analyzes how it affects the organization from a nursing perspective, and details the new position.

Each organization has a unique structure that impacts the behavior of the organization. In health care organizations, this impact is on the ability of the organization to deliver quality patient care. Nursing is an essential component of any health care organization, and nursing leaders must understand the role of nursing and nursing leadership within the total organization. Understanding basic organizational structure, mission, vision, philosophy, and values will better prepare nurse leaders to improve quality and patient outcomes.

Use the Suggested Resources for this assessment to study systems theory, SWOT analysis, and shared governance teams, as background for an Impact Report to Senior Leadership. The report includes a SWOT analysis. The SWOT Analysis Template is linked in attachment

  • Study a facility in your area (Central Florida) and examine its Web site and any available public documents to aid you in completing this assessment. You may wish to examine an organization where you work, where you have worked in the past, or where you did your clinical work.
  • Do not name the organization in your report; instead, identify the type of facility and location. Example: A rehabilitation center in a midsize Midwestern city.

Use the following scenario as the basis for your report:ScenarioThe unit-based Shared Governance Council of the organization where you work has identified a major nursing-related challenge (patient/staff safety, confidentiality, management/staff conflict, poor patient satisfaction survey scores, or nursing staff shortages) within your health care organization. In an unusual move, your system administrator is considering creating a new nurse leadership position that would have the responsibility and authority to address this specific issue. As a member of the shared governance council’s subcommittee, you have been asked to write the committee’s final report.

Deliverable: Impact Report to Senior Leadership

Write a 4–6 page impact report to senior leadership that identifies the challenge, analyzes how it affects the organization from a nursing perspective, and details the new position.

Example paper of expectations attached to use as example. ******

  • Use systems thinking and leadership theory as tools to approach this problem.

**Construct the report with the following headings:**

The Nursing Challenge:

  • Identify the nursing challenge and its impact from a nursing perspective. Choose from:
    • Patient/staff safety, confidentiality, management/staff conflict, poor patient-satisfaction survey scores, or nursing staff shortages.

The System/Organization:

  • Explain how the nursing challenge creates a gap or conflict between the organization’s statements and practice.
    • Identify the organization type—that is, specialty hospital, teaching hospital, major health care system, et cetera, and summarize the organizational structure, its mission, vision, and philosophy statements.
    • Use systems theory and systems thinking to explain the gap or conflict.

SWOT Analysis:

Use the SWOT Analysis Template linked in Required Resources and include the SWOT analysis table in your paper. *Table is in attachment*

  • Identify organizational factors that impact the situation using a SWOT analysis.
    • For example, a budget cut may cause short staffing, which relates directly to the problem.
  • What factors within the system may facilitate a solution for this problem?

The Position:

  • Assess how the new nurse leader position will have power and influence and impact patient outcomes.
  • How will this position affect change within the organization?
  • Identify key leadership skills, knowledge, or abilities required for the position.

Additional Requirements

  • Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: Resources and in-text citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting.
  • Length: The report should be 4–6 pages in content length. Include a separate title page and a separate reference page.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point, double-spaced.
  • Number of resources: Use a minimum of three peer-reviewed resources.

The problem-solving model was first laid out by Helen Perlman. Her seminal 1957 book, Social Casework: A Problem-Solving Process, described the problem-solving model and the 4Ps. Since then, other scholars and practitioners have expanded the problem-solving model and problem-solving therapy. At the heart of problem-solving model and problem-solving therapy is helping clients identify the problem and the goal, generating options, evaluating the options, and then implementing the plan.
Because models are blueprints and are not necessarily theories, it is common to use a model and then identify a theory to drive the conceptualization of the client’s problem, assessment, and interventions. Take, for example, the article by Westefeld and Heckman-Stone (2003). Note how the authors use a problem-solving model as the blueprint in identifying the steps when working with clients who have experienced sexual assault. On top of the problem-solving model, the authors employed crisis theory, as this theory applies to the trauma of going through sexual assault. Observe how, starting on page 229, the authors incorporated crisis theory to their problem-solving model.
In this Final Case Assignment, using the same case study that you chose in Week 2, you will use the problem-solving model AND a theory from the host of different theoretical orientations you have used for the case study.
You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation consisting of 11 to 12 slides.
To prepare:

  • Review and focus on the case study that you chose in Week 2. (Jake Levy Case Study)
  • Review the problem-solving model, focusing on the five steps of the problem-solving model formulated by D’Zurilla on page 388 in the textbook.
  • In addition, review this article listed in the Learning Resources: Westefeld, J. S., & Heckman-Stone, C. (2003). The integrated problem-solving model of crisis intervention: Overview and application. The Counseling Psychologist, 31(2), 221–239. https://doi-org.ezp.waldenulibrary.org/10.1177/0011000002250638

presenting your PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following:

  • Identify the theoretical orientation you have selected to use.
  • Describe how you would assess the problem orientation of the client in your selected case study (i.e., how the client perceives the problem). Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind in this assessment stage.
  • Discuss the problem definition and formulation based on the theoretical orientation you have selected.
  • Identify and describe two solutions from all the solutions possible. Remember, some of these solutions should stem from the theoretical orientation you are utilizing.
  • Describe how you would implement the solution. Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind.
  • Describe the extent to which the client is able to mobilize the solutions for change.
  • Discuss how you would evaluate whether the outcome is achieved or not. Remember to keep the theoretical orientation in mind.
  • Evaluate how well the problem-solving model can be used for short-term treatment of this client.
  • Evaluate one merit and one limitation of using the problem-solving model for this case.

Your 11- to 12-slide PowerPoint presentation should follow these guidelines:

  • Each slide should be written using bullet points, meaning no long paragraphs of written text should be in the slides.
  • Include a brief narration of less than 30 seconds for each slide (i.e., the narration takes the place of any written paragraphs, while the bullet points provide context and cues for the audience to follow along).

Be sure to:

  • Identify and correctly reference the case study you have chosen.
  • Use literature to support your claims.
  • Use APA formatting and style.
  • Include the reference list on the last slide.

Nursing

Long-Term Care Today

Demographics and epidemiological transitions result in dramatic changes in the health needs of individuals throughout the globe. In recent times, there has been increase in the prevalence of long-term disability in the population—causing increasing need for long-term care services. In addition, the present developing world is experiencing an increase in the demand for long-term care services at a cost much lower than industrialized countries.

Prepare a report in a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document comparing the US long-term care system with the long-term care system of a developing country. Research the Internet to find relevant content.

Include the following information in your report:

What are the chronic illness trends of each country?

What is the incidence and prevalence of elderly consumers of long-term care in the United States as compared to your chosen developing country?

How does each country expect these numbers to change in the next ten years?

What are the main characteristics of the elderly population in both the countries? Is there any difference in the long-term health care needs of consumers in both the countries? Provide a rationale for your answer.

Who are the institutional and noninstitutional caregivers in both the countries? Support your answer with relevant examples. Explain the factors that affect care giving in each country.

Is there any difference in the status of quality of care of the elderly consumers in the United States as compared to the developing country?

Is there any difference in the health care cost provided in the United States as compared to the developing country? Define any social support that may exist to cover health care in both countries.

Support your responses with examples.

Cite any sources in APA format.

There is a great influence on public health on US health care systems. The United States stands out from many other countries in not offering universal health insurance coverage. In 2010, 50 million people (16 percent of the U.S. population) were uninsured. Access to health care services, particularly in rural and frontier communities or disadvantaged urban centers, is often limited. The United States has a relatively weak foundation for primary care and a shortage of family physicians. One explanation for the health disadvantage of the United States relative to other high-income countries might be deficiencies in health services. Although the United States is renowned for its leadership in biomedical research, its cutting-edge medical technology, and its hospitals and specialists, problems with ensuring Americans’ access to the system and providing quality care have been a long-standing concern of policymakers and the public.
In the United States, health care delivery (and financing) is deeply fragmented across thousands of health systems and payers and government (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) and the private sector, creating inefficiencies and coordination problems that may be less prevalent in countries with more centralized national health systems. As a result, U.S. patients do not always receive the care they need (and sometimes receive the care they do not need): one study estimated that Americans receive only 50 percent of recommended health care services.
It is clear that health systems—both those responsible for public health services and medical care—are instrumental in both the prevention of disease and in optimizing outcomes when illness occurs. The importance of population-based services is marked by the signature accomplishments of public health, such as the control of vaccine-preventable diseases, lead abatement, tobacco control, motor vehicle occupant restraints, and water fluoridation to prevent dental caries.
There is mounting evidence that chronic illness care requires better integration of professions and institutions to help patients manage their conditions, and that health care systems built on an acute, episodic model of care are ill-equipped to meet the longer-term and fluctuating needs of people with chronic illnesses. Wagner and colleagues (1996) were among the first to document the importance of coordination in managing chronic illnesses. Many countries differ from the United States because public health and medical care services are embedded in a centralized health system and social and health care policies are more integrated than they are in the United State.
