Physical Activity Resource Brochure
After reading the websites cited in the Overview and your peer’s Discussion posts develop a one-page Physical Activity Resource Brochure/infographic. Imagine that your peers all live in the same general location. Research one fun and unusual but accessible activity that will meet the physical activity goals of you and your peers.
Remember to search for activities on Living Social, Groupon, Department of Recreation and Parks brochures, club and meetings sections of the newspaper, bulletin boards in your favorite neighborhood coffee shop or grocery store, etc. Develop a one-page infographic as the brochure which offers information on:

  • a description of the activity
  • cost
  • when and where
  • website or copy of the listing location

The activity should be described as above noted with the addition of photos or graphics to enhance the brochure. Pictures and graphics are required.
You may submit your brochure/infographic in PowerPoint, PDF, Word or Microsoft Publisher format. View websites on how to create an 8 X 11.5 color infographic (one-page Word or pdf. document), but do not purchase formatting options.

Assignment 1: SWOT Analysis

The SWOT analysis is a major component of the strategic planning process. It provides leadership with an evaluation of organizational performance in relation to competitors and external forces. This evaluation helps leaders capitalize on organizational strengths and improve its weaknesses in order to differentiate itself from competitors. For this Assignment, you conduct a SWOT analysis for a health care organization.

To prepare:

  • Review the Jasper Gardens Nursing Home case study in this week’s Learning Resources.
  • Analyze strengths of the organization. Consider the following questions:
    • What does this organization do particularly well? Does it have a specific and recognized niche?
    • What resources does the organization have that might set it apart from its competition or position it for future growth?
    • What does the market perceive as strengths of the organization?
    • What financial considerations are relevant to its strengths?
  • Analyze weaknesses of the organization. Consider the following questions:
    • What needs improvement within the organization?
    • What resource deficits might impact this organization?

Discussion: Operating and Financial Performance Indicators

Health care leaders depend on sound operating and financial performance indicators to make decisions regarding working capital management, capital budgeting, and resource allocation. These indicators help organizations maximize performance and strategically plan for new initiatives. For this Discussion, you select a health care organization and examine how its leaders and managers use operating and financial performance indicators in their decision making.

Unfortunately, since 1998, little has changed. For many individuals living in impoverished underdeveloped countries, even basic medical care is difficult to obtain. Although international agencies sponsor outreach programs and corporations, and although nonprofit organizations donate goods and services, the level of health care remains far below what is necessary to meet the needs of struggling populations. Polluted water supplies, unsanitary conditions, and poor nutrition only exacerbate the poor health prevalent in these environments. Nurses working in developed nations have many opportunities/advantages that typically are not available to those in underdeveloped countries. What can nurses do to support their international colleagues and advocate for the poor and underserved of the world?

In this Discussion, you will consider the challenges of providing health care for the world’s neediest citizens, as well as how nurses can advocate for these citizens.

Tax Credits: A tax credit is a type of tax incentive that can reduce the amount of money a taxpayer owes the government. Unlike a tax deduction, which reduces taxable income, a taxpayer can subtract a tax credit from the amount of taxes they owe, lowering their tax liability dollar-for-dollar.
SECTION 3.   The Department of Energy will oversee this measure by assessing whether the small businesses’ energy practices are “Green Energy”, then by referring the business to the Internal Revenue Service for a federal tax credit.
SECTION 4.   This bill shall go into effect by the new fiscal year of 2020 (October 1, 2020).
SECTION 5.   All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
