Unit 9 Assignment
Unit outcomes addressed in this Assignment:
· Develop logic model to develop programs in the administration of health care.
Course outcome assessed/addressed in this Assignment:
HS499-5: Health Care Administration: Demonstrate an understanding of the forces impacting health delivery systems and the effective management of health care administration.
Instructions
There are many forces that impact health delivery systems. Choose one aspect that influences how health delivery systems are challenged, and describe the issue. Examples include, but are not limited to, access to care, quality health care improvement, lack of coordinated care, continuity of care (medical home), etc.
After reviewing the Logic Model Development Guide from the readings, create a logic model for a new program you would like to fund to address this impact on the health delivery system. Discuss how the program can be applied to reduce the impact on the health delivery system.
Requirements
· The paper should be at least 975 words in length
· Your paper must include a logic model that you create (explaining the content of a logic model is insufficient)
· Include a list of references in APA format, including the information used from the modules.

Maintaining the Loyalty of Stakeholders

To maintain political, governmental, staff, and patient loyalty, the healthcare organization must provide a sense of organizational stability and view of the legislative landscape. In Chapters 14 and 15 we have researched and investigated the need to align both public opinion with staff trust. The political landscape is the basis for healthcare policy, guidance, state, local, and community support (both fiscal and legal) engaging in political trade-offs to stabilize the healthcare industry (such as in the cost, pharmaceuticals, insurance premiums, and organizational ROI in the healthcare industry). Healthcare organizations must provide the necessary guidance and advocacy for stakeholders in the setting of both state and federal legislature as a voice of reason, authority, and integrity. Provide information on the following:

  • Research a policy associated with the Affordable Care Act in your home state or another state that may affect healthcare reform and/or the way health care is provided in the chosen state.
  • Describe the policy and who wrote and/or promoted the policy legislature (provide statistical data).
  • What are the trade-offs offered to bring balance to the healthcare stakeholders?
  • What role have public perception and disinterestedness played in the valuation of healthcare performance?
  • Describe how process innovation, risk taking, health policy analysis, and governance “sense-making” provide balance for stakeholders.

Your paper

  • Must be 4 to 6 double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

THE ROLE OF PERSONAL HEALTH RECORDS
The My Health Record system was first introduced by the Australian Government in 2012 and allows people seeking health care in Australia to register for a My Health Record. My Health Record is an online summary of the key health information of all Australian Citizens. It contains key health information drawn from the existing electronic records of multiple healthcare providers involved in a patient’s care, including their general practitioner. The patient can control what information goes into it and which organisations have access to their record. Over the past few weeks there has been much contentious debate about this e-Health Solution relating to privacy, security and a vigorous discussion whether or not the system should be ‘opt in’ or ‘opt out’. When one “opts in” to a program, they expressly give their consent to being part of the program. When one “opts out” of a program, they are expressly indicating that they DO NOT wish to be part of the program.   Visithttp://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2018-07-18/my-health-record-opt-out-confusion/10000008 for some background on this issue.
Once you have done that, have a look at this article and video…
Stay or go? My Health Record
You will need to undertake some additional research on the issue of ‘opt in’ or ‘opt out’ approaches to e-Health and argue the point for or against (an opt in or opt out system).

Assessment and Care of Patients With Conditions of the Head, Neck, Esophagus, and Diaphragm

Health conditions involving the head, neck, esophagus, and diaphragm can disrupt patients’ daily lives, making surgical interventions necessary. Consider Janice Savage-Martin, who frequently experienced impaired breathing, congestion, and headaches. These symptoms and the pain associated with them put a strain on her normal routine and ability to work. After being diagnosed with turbinates and a deviated septum, providers recommended surgery to shrink the blood vessels in the turbinates. Like many surgical patients, however, Janice was concerned that her recovery would be painful and might lead to further health complications (Methodist Health System, 2015). As an advanced practice nurse who cares for surgical patients like Janice, you will play significant role in educating patients, easing concerns, and providing evidence-based care. Assessment and Care of Patients With Conditions of the Head, Neck, Esophagus, and Diaphragm

There are many common health conditions associated with the head, neck, esophagus, and diaphragm. Although these conditions and their related symptoms usually are managed easily, a delay in treatment can result in sensory debility such as hearing loss or sight loss. For this Assignment, as you examine this week’s i-Human patient case study, consider how you might evaluate and treat pre- and post-operative patients who present with health conditions related to the head, neck, esophagus, and diaphragm.
To prepare:

  • Review this week’s Learning Resources. With the head, neck, esophagus, and diaphragm in mind, consider how to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in pre- and post-operative care.
  • Review this week’s i-Human case study. Based on the patient information provided, think about the health history you would need to collect from the patient.
  • Consider what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate to gather more information about the patient’s condition. Reflect on how the results would be used to make a diagnosis.
  • Identify three to five possible conditions to consider in a differential diagnosis for the patient.
  • Consider the patient’s diagnosis. Think about clinical guidelines that might support this diagnosis.
  • Develop a treatment plan for the patient that includes health promotion and patient education strategies for medical and surgical patients with conditions related to the head, neck, esophagus, and diaphragm.

To complete:
As you interact with this week’s i-Human patient, complete the assigned case study. For guidance on using i-Human, refer to the i-Human Patients Case Player Student Manual in the Week 2 Learning Resources.

D. Determine how the ethical decisions of leadership may impact the performance of employees in addressing the problem. How might these decisions improve employees’ ability to address the problem? How might they hinder their ability to address the problem?
E. Determine how the ethical decisions of leadership may impact the culture of the organization. For example, what if employees do not agree with the decisions?
F. Explain the overall implications of the ethical decision-making of leadership and how that affects the organization and the community. Be sure to justify your response, and support your response with appropriate research from the field gathered in your previous review.
IV. Recommendations A. Recommend an appropriate and effective leadership style that superiors at the organization could employ to address the problem and best fit
the organization based on your previous analysis. Be sure to justify your response. B. Make recommendations to leadership for resolving the situation that balance the needs of the community, effectively addressing the problem,
and what is ethically appropriate. How should leadership balance these three important elements in addressing the problem? C. Recommend strategies or actions that leadership could take to improve community relations and foster growth and trust between the
community and the organization in response to the problem from the chosen scenario. Be sure to justify your response and support your response with appropriate research from the field gathered in your previous review.
