Workbook Part A: Research knowledge

A component of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Registration Standards is Continuing Professional Development (CPD). “CPD is the means by which members of the professions maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge, expertise and competence, and develop the personal and professional qualities needed throughout their professional lives” (NMBA, 2016, p 1). An example of a CPD activity is attending “conferences, forums, seminars and symposia” (NMBA, 2016, p 2).
In NUR131 you are required to participate in the 8 research presentations as an illustrative example of a CPD activity. In Part A of the workbook you are required complete a workbook entry for each of the 8 Research Presentations. The research presentations for this activity are located in the

Assessment Task 3 Folder in the course BlackBoard.
Each presentation entry should be approximately 100 words and must address the following criteria:
1. Date you listened to the presentation
2. Name of the presenter
3. Title of the presentation
4. Identify 5 technical research terms discussed in the presentation
5. Choose 2 of the identified terms and provide a definition in your own words of the term (you must not use direct quotes).

You can only use a technical research term once across the 8 presentation entries.

Workbook Part B: The research process

Part B of the workbook requires you to answer a number of questions related to a research article. The workbook template (included on BlackBoard) includes the question areas that MUST be answered for this assessment task.
You are required to analyse and critique the journal article. Simple yes/no answers are not adequate responses. Do not use quotations as this demonstrates that you can find information but does not demonstrate that you understand a concept.

General survey and health history nursing essay

Casey is a 17-year-old high school student admitted to the ER with a compound fracture of the left leg obtained falling at the local skateboard park while practicing for a national competition. He has never been hospitalized before. His mother has been notified and is on her way. The EMTs gave him morphine and he reports his pain level as “okay.” What part of the interview and examination can be done prior to his mother’s arrival? As you enter the room for the first time, what should you observe as part of the general survey? As you complete his history, what areas are especially important? What are the important developmental considerations for Casey?

A feasibility analysis is a chance to open your eyes, ask yourself some very tough questions, then check to see whether your idea, as originally conceived, needs to be modified, refocused, or changed dramatically. (Or perhaps even scrapped altogether.)” (Abrams, as cited in Scarborough & Cornwall, 2015, p. 237).
With this assignment, you will be addressing the fundamental question: Does this business have profit potential?
Referring to the same business you either started or purchased in the first assignment, write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

  1. Conduct a feasibility analysis in which you research:
    1. Industry and Market Feasibility
    2. Product or Service Feasibility
    3. Financial Feasibility
    4. Entrepreneurial Readiness
  2. Based on your assessment, does the business idea need to be modified, changed significantly, or abandoned? (Note: If you abandon the business idea, then you will need to select and analyze a new business that has profit potential.)
  3. Include at least two (2) references outside the textbook.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Re:Topic 3 DQ 2

“Qualitative research is characterized by its aims, which relate to understanding some aspect of social life and its methods which (in general) generate words, rather than numbers, as data for analysis” (McCusker & Gunaydin, 2015). Qualitative research has an interpretative approach and is subjective. This style of research often sees the researcher spending many hours in direct personal contact with those being studied. This style of research is often referred to as an interpretative researcher; observing and recording amounts of information and understanding the meaning about everyday life. This method is using to answer the question of ‘why’ ‘what’, or ‘how’ experience than ‘how many’ or ‘how much’ which are answered by quantitative methods.

Quantitative research however, relies and builds on mathematical procedures and methods, such as frequency, quality, amount and statistical procedure. In this method, researcher use tools that includes questionnaire, or equipment to collect numerical data whereas qualitative methods involves analysis of data such as interviews, video, participation, group discussion, pictures and that’s how they based the final results or conclusion or their experiment. Qualitative method could less generalize and depends on skills use; however, quantitative method is more generalize and largely depends on measurement device.

Both methods are used in many research studies as well especially in medical field to evaluate effective results. Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies can find practical details and reach a conclusion based on the reasoning and complexity in the data. In both methods, researcher strives to avoid error and false conclusion. Both methods are used to find out the answer of research questions and utilize the technique to verify the data and find the valid conclusion (Smith, 2013).

CHAPTER SIX: SAVE MORE FOR TOMORROW
Summary
This chapter talks about the major decisions people make in there working days involving the savings they have to put in place for their retirement and security when they will be no longer working for any organization or even their own enterprise.
According to a research conducted in the US, many American households spent more than they earned and borrowed more than they saved. In this chapter it is clear that majority of the employed society lack a good platform for saving their incomes and putting down a well resourceful retirement benefit plan. It is by this action that led to the famous Tony snow to resign at the age of 52 as the white house secretary in 2007.despite the good employment background, Tony snow retired without making any relevant saving for he ignored a retirement benefit plan. Actually he even confessed that he was too reluctant to get in on a 401(k).
The government has passed laws to encourage personal savings to make solvent the social security system by creating tax favoured savings account such as IRAS and 401(k)s. despite this effort by the government many Americans who are eligible for this plan fail to take full advantage of them. This chapter mentions about how to help this case. It offers two suggestions, one, is automatic enrolment in saving plans and secondly is the save more for tomorrow program.
Automatic enrolment has been put into the lime light since it offers a platform whereby the eligible employees make decisions on their savings. This is a saving plan which was adopted by most organizations to enrol a number of employees into the plan. Here workers are supposed to fill a form upon employment and get enrolled automatically into the plan.s
