Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy Essay Assignment Papers – NURS 6650
Week 5: Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy
When solution-focused and cognitive behavioral family therapy proved effective with individuals, therapists began applying these approaches to families. However, it quickly became evident that the translation of these approaches from individuals to families was more difficult than expected. Consider how you can successfully apply these therapies to your client families. Is one approach more effective than the other? What are the challenges of using these therapeutic approaches with families?
This week, as you continue exploring therapeutic approaches and their appropriateness for client families, you examine solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. You also develop diagnoses for clients receiving psychotherapy and consider legal and ethical implications of counseling these clients.

Case study
Ann, a community nurse, made an afternoon home visit with Susan and her father. After the death of her mother, Susan had growing concerns about her father living alone. “I worry about my father all the time. He is becoming more forgetful and he has trouble seeing. Mom used to take care of him. I am not sleeping and I am irritable around him. Yesterday I shouted at him because he wouldn’t let me help him with his laundry. I felt terrible! I am at my wits’ end! My brothers and sisters do not want to put dad in a nursing home but they are not willing to help out. As usual, they have left me with all the responsibility. I work part time and have two small children to care for.” Susan’s father, Sam, sat quietly with tears filling his eyes. He was well nourished and well-groomed but would not make eye contact. Nurse Ann noticed that the house was clean and orderly. A tray in front of the TV had the remains of a ham sandwich and glass of ice tea. Mail was piled up, unopened on a small table near the front door. There was only one car in the driveway and the yard was in need of attention.
What questions does Orlando’s theory guide the nurse to consider in caring for Susan and Sam?

In the context of evolution, which one of us is more successful? Why do you think so? I know that a man who cannot support his children is reprehensible, but consider it from a scientific point of few.
Please include the name of the person or question to which you are replying in the subject line. For example, “Tom’s response to Susan’s comment.”
PLEASE REPLY TO COMMENT BELOW FROM ANOTHER STUDENT⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
As human beings we just have raw intelligence none of us are the same not only because of our genetics but our atmosphere that surrounds us. We have different languages, cultures and we abide by laws and institutions. But our brains are larger than apes monkeys I do not agree that we have evolved from them our ancestors were people not animals. If that was the case we are not the monkey, chimps and apes evolving to humans as well? God intended to create us all animals included different with our own unique traits. We have evolved drastically as each decade comes and goes. Children are not even the same as I was growing up in the 90’s, they are way advanced and intelligent and very wise.
As far as the guy with 30 children and counting , WOW! He has 11 different women he has produce children with which means they all have different traits because genetically the women are all different so it could be a genetic drift. He has a variation of children I’m sure which makes their traits evolve into another reproduction.
