What are the characteristics of the patient or population?
Nursing Essay HelpDiscussion Question (DUE DATE MONDAY 12/05) Two peers answers to assignment Week3-1 Formulating the Research Question, Problem Statement, Research Purpose In the Week 1 discussion forum you had an opportunity to present a potential problem and an innovative solution specific to your role specialization. In addition, you have reviewed the literature to identify qualitative and quantitative research articles and submitted annotated bibliographies to provide evidence supporting the problem. Considering the feedback provided to you by the faculty member it is now time to prepare your problem statement, research purpose, and research question. First share your refined problem and proposed solution (given your review of literature this may have changed depending on the evidence you were able to provide). Next, follow the steps to help define your research question.
- Craft the problem statement and research purpose.
- Design your research question aimed at solving (a part of) the problem and include the following components which will focus the literature review.
PICOT Question: Patient, Population or Problem- What are the characteristics of the patient or population?
- What is the condition or disease you are interested in?
Intervention or exposure- What do you want to do with this patient (e.g. treat, diagnose, observe)?
Comparison- What is the alternative to the intervention (e.g. placebo, different drug, surgery)?
Outcome- What are the relevant outcomes (e.g. morbidity, death, complications)?

The data in the table are from a study conducted by an insurance company to determine the effect of changing the process by which insurance claims are approved. The goal was to improve policyholder satisfaction by expediting the process and eliminating some extraneous approval steps in the process. The response measured was the average time required to approve and mail all claims initiated in a week. The new procedure was tested for 12 weeks, and the results were compared to the process performance for the 12 weeks prior to instituting the change.
Use the data in the table and submit the answers to the following questions in a Word document:

Nursing Essay HelpLiterature Searches An important step in the EBP process is reviewing the current body of literature to better understand the subject or topic in which you are interested. By conducting a review of the literature, you are building foundational knowledge about the topic; later, you can use this background to build new insights. Developing a strong grasp of a topic can only be garnered by taking the time to thoroughly search for relevant information and resources. For this Discussion, you will practice searching the literature to find evidence on a specific topic. To prepare:
- Choose a simple search term(s) relating to a topic of your PICOT question.
- Review the information on the evidence hierarchy discussed in Chapter 2 of the course text, in the article, “Facilitating Access to Pre-Processed Research Evidence in Public Health,” and in the multimedia presentation “Hierarchy of Evidence Pyramid,” found in this week’s Learning Resources.
- Review the information on the Walden Library’s website, “Levels of evidence.” Take a few minutes to explore the different types of databases available for each level of evidence and focus on the meaning of filtered and non-filtered resources.
- Conduct a literature search in the Walden Library on your selected topic using the databases that you reviewed. Use at least one database for each of the three levels of filtered information and at least one unfiltered database. Record the number of hits that you find at each level of the hierarchy of evidence.
- Select one article from the results at each level of the hierarchy. Compare the articles based on the quality and depth of information. What would be the value of each resource if you were determining an evidence-based practice?
Post on or before Day 3:- (1)a summary of your search.
- (2) Describe what topic you selected, the search term(s) that you used, and the number of results found at each level of the hierarchy.
- (3) Compare the types of information found in the articles from different levels and the value of the information from each level.
- (4) Highlight a useful tip that you could share with your colleagues about conducting an effective literature search.

UncategorizedPsychology 171 Assignment 6
Bringing it Home
Objective: Over the course of Psyc 171, you’ve learned about the
influences of social development and how important things like
attachment to caregivers, nurturing, attentive parenting and
social competence are for the development of solid friendships
across childhood. As noted, these social skills and attachments
can help prevent mood and anxiety disorders, addictions and
poor performance in academic pursuits. Becoming aware of the influences of family on your own social
development and the way you view relationships and conflict can help you deal with any lingering
“baggage” and learn new skills to make your relationships with adults, and children, better. Many
people, in times of conflict with children, will note how they heard their own parent’s voices come
through and this is often met with surprise. 😊The purpose of this assignment is to explore some of
those family dynamics and how they might be influencing you as adults.
A. Introduction: Use this section to introduce your immediate family: parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and
uncles…anyone of importance.
B. Make-up of Roles: Use this section to talk about the roles in your family – division of labour, household chores,
parents as rulers vs. collaborators, children as lesser or equal citizens, evidence of gender stereotype in the
division of the roles (for example, mom does most of housework/childcare, dad does yard work, car repair, etc.)
Has any of this spilled onto the way that you do things?
C. Family Rituals and Customs: Use this section to talk about common customs in your family – maybe around the
holidays, birthday celebrations, holidays, dinner rituals, etc. (For example, in our family, gifts are always found by
following elaborate scavenger hunts, and at Christmas we read the children’s book “ The Night Tree” and decorate
an outdoor tree with carrots, apples, cranberries, suet, etc. for the wild animals.) Do you continue any of these
rituals now that you’re an adult?
D. Parenting Styles: Use this section to talk about your parent’s parenting style – Permissive? Authoritarian?
Authoritative? Uninvolved? Give examples to back up your claim…what effect did this parenting style have on
your development through childhood and adolescence? Now? (could consider things like how you established
your own personal identity, how comfortable you are making decisions, acceptance of authority, etc.)
E. Rules: What were some of the spoken and unspoken rules in your house (e.g. of spoken might be “Your curfew
is midnight” vs. unspoken…toilet paper installed so that it rolls over the top). Do you find yourself following these
rules now as an adult? What do you think might influence this?
F. Conflict: How did your family resolve conflict? What impact does that have on your relationships today?
G. Love Story: How did the people, movies and peers around you affect your “love story” (script around what a
relationship “should” look like?) Does it affect your relationships now? How?
Feel free to divide this into the sections listed above. Full, formal sentences. 3 pages or so. Let me
know if you have any questions, okay? 😊
Describe the barriers that women face when seeking treatment.
Nursing HomeworksDiscussion—Barriers and Differences in Treating Women
Treating substance-abusing women can be a completely different entity from treating men. Often, women who abuse substances face significant barriers when seeking treatment, and are often in need of therapeutic techniques specifically tailored to suit their needs.
Keeping this in mind, and using the textbook, lecture materials, and other scholarly resources, respond to the following questions:
Write your initial response in approximately 300–400 words using APA standards. PLEASE BE DETAILED ORIENTED.
Write a critical analysis of the Chronic Bronchitis, a type of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Nursing HomeworksFormat Instructions:
Question
Write a critical analysis of the Chronic Bronchitis, a type of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Make sure you cover lung function tests and how it will be affected in a person with COPD
Included in this analysis, you will need to explain how the disease you chose
affects the various body systems where relevant.
The following relevant and concise information must (if pertinent) be included in your write up.
1. Name of disease
2. History of the disease
3. Description of disease
Anatomy of the system(s) involved
1. Effects on other body systems
2. Cause of disease
3. Signs and symptoms
4. Diagnosis of the disease
5. Complications, if any
6. Treatment and side effects
Conclusion should include the following:
1. Brief mention of current or proposed research that may significantly impact Malaria.
2. Prevention strategies if any
3. Your insight / opinion.
NOTE: you must focus on the anatomy & physiology of the disease/disorder. Cover the normal anatomy & physiology of the organ system affected and then state what the disease/disorder does to this organ system, and other organ systems. In other words, if you are writing about Tuberculosis, I do not want you to go too much in detail about the bacteria that causes it but how the bacteria escapes our body’s defenses and what the bacteria does to the lungs, bones, etc.
