Eventually, after thoughtful research and diligent practice, you reach the level of wisdom—knowledge applied in meaningful ways.

Are there areas in your practice that you believe should be more fully explored? The central aims of nursing informatics are to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom. This continuum represents the overarching structure of nursing informatics. In this Assignment, you develop a research question relevant to your practice area and relate how you would work through the progression from data to information, knowledge, and wisdom.

To prepare:

  • Review the information in Figure 6–2 in Nursing Informatics and the Foundation of Knowledge.
  • Develop a clinical question related to your area of practice that you would like to explore.
  • Consider what you currently know about this topic. What additional information would you need to answer the question?
  • Using the continuum of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom, determine how you would go about researching your question.
    • Explore the available databases in the Walden Library. Identify which of these databases you would use to find the information or data you need.
    • Once you have identified useful databases, how would you go about finding the most relevant articles and information?
    • Consider how you would extract the relevant information from the articles.
    • How would you take the information and organize it in a way that was useful? How could you take the step from simply having useful knowledge to gaining wisdom?

Write a 3- to 4-page paper that addresses the following: APA style with refernces

  • Summarize the question you developed, and then relate how you would work through the four steps of the data, information, knowledge, wisdom continuum. Be specific.
    • Identify the databases and search words you would use.
    • Relate how you would take the information gleaned and turn it into useable knowledge.
  • Can informatics be used to gain wisdom? Describe how you would progress from simply having useful knowledge to the wisdom to make decisions about the information you have found during your database search.

Your paper must also include a title page, an introduction, a summary, and a reference page.

Financial and managerial accounting differ. But both are vital for decisions. Yet, I argue that managerial accounting has many uses. Financial accounting records, organizes, and reports a company’s financial transactions and performance over a period of time. The goal is to give a clear and consistent view of a business’s finances. 

In contrast, managerial accounting is a process. It analyzes an organization’s financial data and interprets the results. This helps leaders make better decisions. The goal of management accounting is to boost an organization’s performance. It provides financial info to internal managers to do this. This form of accounting measures the effectiveness and costs of different value streams. It also checks their performance. Management can gain key insights by analyzing product lines, location costs, pay metrics, or any expenses. Also, this accounting style is not bound by strict GAAP. The reports are for the organization’s internal use. Given these functionalities, managerial accounting is likely to be more effective in enhancing cost performance, operational productivity, and other essential performance indicators. One could argue that, relying only on managerial accounting methods can aid strategic decisions.

The organization needs both types of accounting to excel. But, managers can focus on only managerial accounting to run their operations.

It is not possible to define aging in the elderly solely by chronological criteria, since the functional, physical, mental and health conditions they present must be considered, since the aging process is individual, verifying that different biological conditions can be observed in individuals located in the same chronological age range. For example, in the cardiovascular system, when an elderly person is subjected to exertion, there is a decrease in the ability of the heart to increase the number and strength of the heartbeat. With aging there is also a reduction in the heart rate at rest, an increase in cholesterol and vascular resistance, with the consequent increase in blood pressure. Another time may be that arteriosclerosis is caused by normal changes in age, environmental influences, and genetic factors. In the autonomic nervous system there is a lower cardiovascular response to sympathetic and parasympathetic stimuli and a decrease in adrenergic content. As a result of these changes, the ejection phase and the relaxation phase increase, with reduced diastole, greater impedance to the left ventricular ejection, and decreased compliance (Health & Medicine Week, 2019).
I believe that it is important not to confuse aging factors with diseases that are not the cause of the same. One of them is Alzheimer’s, as this is a disease that can appear suddenly and although older adults are more likely to get it, this is not the main cause of it. Memory loss in the elderly does not presuppose normality, but, on the contrary, illness. As a result, it is important to allow the patient and his family to plan for the future in the face of total disability, providing support and monitoring in the aspects of judgment and safety so that the patient can continue independently and living in the community as much as possible (Mental Health Weekly Digest, 2016).
